Is mac ready to take on the challenges of NOT beeing in a protected little bubble-mac-world? Mac didn't have to deal with viruses/spy-ware but that's ALL going to change as soon as they open the door to the mainstream market, will they do a better job at it than say, microsoft? Will apple fall in the same trap as microsoft and ignore such threats?... just wondering
From the article: "We're not sure we completely understand what he's on about, in all honesty, but it's clear that the emphasis is on calculators."
No?! Really, they use math in computer games?! WOW this must be the REAL thing! What a revolution this will be!
Well cause they'll say two buzzwords: Terrorists and 9/11. That's all they'll do, and it will work... i must say, this law isn't really that bad, what i'm more worried about is the laws that (most likely) will be passed within a decade, that's when the real hell starts...
get out:)
I got one thing to say to you guys... this thing isn't going to go away... if i were you i'd pack my bags and leave for a free democratic country (wherever that might be)
And you honestly believe that the good trend of no virus on linux will continue? The next big remote exploit will certinaly see to it that a whole new community of viruses for linux enter the realm:)
well legally you'll probably be analogous to an ISP (just carrying content not taking responsibility etc...) Your job is creating a network for that LAN party, not deciding what's going to pass through said network:)
wow seeing it that way just changes my life... Now i
can sit in all day and play games, and if anyone complains i'll just grab my rl and frag the bastard:)
good thing this planet is stuffed with different countries how can barely agree on anything these days... doubt they'll make a world-wide coalition to
destroy the big and mighty Tor and his hammer:)
hehe think about this, the mpaa/riaa/others spend hundreds of millions on lawyers to get bittorrent illegal... so what if they succeed? The biggest impact would actually be another negative impact on us->world relations... (we own everything and so on)
Maybe the US will allow their businesses to control their country but that doesn't automatically mean the rest of the world follows. ok end of rant:)
I'm gonna sue you! i didn't like the above comment ("a concept which you seem not to understand") This comment is both injuring and will probably have a negative effect on the persons self esteem.
Now if i only had a few million bucks and an army of lawyers...
At first sight most of these 'points' seem quite uninformed and sometimes blatantly stupid, and all too easy to rebuke, however how many people in the world hold these views? How many businesses are beeing held back in the windows enviroment because of these views?... Just wondering...
So let me get this straight... MS first supported that bill and just before the support would actually have meant something, they dropped it, just to resume it again when it has no political consequenze? How nice of them...

Want a really dooming perspective? Hitler in control of the entire US military... (it WILL happen in 10 years, if nothing is done)
