If ebay isn't doing it's job as a middleman , which is mainly, in this case, to provide trust between the buyer and the seller. When they can't do that we might as well use msn or irc (just examples, don't make a fuzz about it!) for online auctions and stop paying ebay money for this. Guess ebay's doomed:)

That's the great thing about opensource now isn't it? If you have a user base of 10.000 for OpenSource project X, and lets be somewhat pessimistic and say one of those users will actually contribute something useful ( thus usually expanding the user base ). Coding is the how-to-to part, users can contribute significantly on the what-to-do part of a project. Look at the example of the photoshop, some people want to manipulate pictures (for whatever reason) and most people in the world can't easly cash out an extra 700$ for some software, which leaves that person two choices Piracy and opensource. Oh yeah, that's the nice thing about opensource programming, you'll only have to do it right once:=)
haven't trolled on slashdot before, however i can't keep my peace anymore. How the hell does this game NOT suck? Why the hell am i bothering posting this?

Yahoo is DEFINITIVELY better, just look at the scientific evidence! if we do a search on google, only searching for site:yahoo.com it only finds 48.1 million results. Doing the same on yahoo.com yields 425 million results! so yahoo is ALMOST 10 times better! Vote for yahoo now!

VALPARAISO -- A Florida Panhandle librarian has been suspended and may be fired by officials upset that a registered sex offender and three boys allegedly used the city library's computers to access pornographic Internet sites.
Sue Martin, head librarian at the Valparaiso Community Library, was suspended with pay and will receive a hearing within 60 days, City Attorney Doug Wyckoff said Thursday.
City Commissioner Robert Billingsley said he would ask the commission to dismiss Martin.
Hard drives have been removed from the computers, and the public has been prohibited from using them until further notice.
Martin does not have a telephone listing under her name, but she wrote to Billingsley, who oversees library matters for the commission, after the sex offender allegedly viewed a pornographic site July 25.
"We continually enforce our policy by monitoring all computers," she wrote. "Any suspicious use is immediately checked by accessing the history of the patrons' Web use."
So... they're watching... and fireing anyone who doesn't play along?
well john lennon doesn't produce much music anymore now does he? games today are WAY less cool than rock in the 60's and 70's, however they are WAAAAY cooler than the modern recipe-rock (there are some good things out there but most of it is crap) oh well, atleast the RIAA will be dead soon, then maybe
we can get some qualty music again.
"Regardless of your age, something is wrong when your primary entertainment becomes a game centered around crime." ehm. crime is exciting, it will be atleast ONCE in almost every persons lifetime... so i guess you're right, much better stealing a REAL car than just playing a game about it. Think of it like a pressure vault, you need to let out some steam once in a while, you should try it:)
Seriously guys... not *EVERY* article on slashdot HAS to be about terrorists... Let bush and co play their game, just ignore em, works much better than this;P
ok unfair, i don't live in the u.s, but still... doesn't help to be an anti-bush guy if your just as fanatic as the bush guys:)
from the article: "The company reported a loss of $6.5 million, or 37 cents per share, for the quarter ended Oct. 31, compared with a year-earlier loss of $1.6 million or 12 cents bper share. The Lindon, Utah, company's revenue dropped from $24.3 million to $10.1 million over the same period."

up or down?... sorry thought there was a discussion here but all i found was a "my is better than your "
Run for you lives, this is just as bad as SARS was (not for humans but for computers) you need to RUN along and by LOTS and LOTS of anti-spyware, anti-virus, firewall products RIGHT now! Your computers life is at STAKE! And remember kids, the more money you put into it, the more protected you are!
ehm, comparing to windows? viruses instantly transfering from one OS to another? What are you talking about? you should read my post.
All i said was when Apple gets a bigger marketshare, they'll get more attention, which will produce more spyware/viruses for existing
and future security holes. Sure the unix user privelige scheme will help many of the more... idiotic faults found in windows, however there are ways of circumventing these restrictions and they WILL be found, you only need one...
What are you talking about? What "bubble" are you talking about? This is a hardware shift, pure and simple, not a change to the operating system. - the bubble that is non-x86 platform? the platform (not sure how much but probably 9/10 people who have a computer use)
a)
- well , underestimating the hackers/scriptkiddies/spyware companies that exploit these faults will probably help(?)
b)
ask yourself: How many security holes do you need to install a piece of spyware? even with enhanced security design it will NOT spare you from the spyware threat.
so i guess it all comes down to people patching their machines and apple releasing those patches:)
yeah! and that from a big respected company like microsoft, i'm shocked i say, shocked!
which, of course is completely unrealistic without the mutli-million labor-robot workforce...
