I agree, its like a car, or gun, it has a primary use but it can also be used for other things, say murder. But low and behold I drove my van to work this morning.
I believe it is a code on the dvd saying that all remote commands should be ignored. I have a RCA player and I cant FF through the warning have about 30 movies. A friend has one of the same movies and can skip the warning.
it was a 1979 911 I believe. He bought it from flordia and had it shipped to California. I have not herd he has had any problems. I think he paid about 11k for it. Dont know how he paid for it though.
I have had a problem with e-cost.com I canceled an order before they sent it because they did not have the primary item I wanted. They still shiped me the other merchandice, even though I spoke to their customer service to cancel the rest of the order. I called my credit card company and they said there is nothing I can do because I have the merchandise. E-costs' customer service will no respond to my requests for an RMA number, yet the CC company says I'm screwed
I have one running as a server for a small non-profit I volunteer for, It has 2 256k non reg ram and 2 1.2 non mp processors in a 65 dollar case, it runs great and has not had any problem. Its running axon linux
Actually non profit groups (I would assume that schools count) can get very discounted software. My dad's office, a non profit gets windows server for 120 for 10 users, win2k for about 30 and office for 40.
I have them too. They have a new box that has somthing akin to a TIVO built in. I have the original one, but the new one looks even better. Plus you dont have to shell out any money for the hardware, just 40 a month for the programming. Its better than my neighboors DirectTV, except that he has a card and can 'ensure that all his channels are working'.
I am on San Diego RoadRunner. I play Counter-strike and get pings around 40ms to the server most times. The worst I get is around 230 when I play on a server in Belgium. RR here is very good, but I cant wait till next month when my new home is done and I can have a static IP via DSL
WEll I had flashcom/northpoint then telocity/northpoint. I had telocity for less than 20 days before northpoint kicked the bucket. To the point, telocity does not charge a fee for the equipment, it is part or the rental agreement like a cable modem is. So it still belongs to telocity, be happy they are not charging you to ship it back as it says you must do in the tos. The one I clicked yes to said I had to pay 25 to ship it back to them, But alas I still have it sitting in a box somewhere.
I am buying a new house in San Diego, Property taxes are about 350 a month on a 300k house, oh and its only 1882 sq feet, and by backyard in all of 15 feet deep.
um, did you even read the other story? He stated that the user guide speciffically states that the recording will work without a subscription. Tivo changed how their product works so that it will no longer do what they sold it to do.
IANAL but I did work in a law office (tech guy). The reason their data base is so good is not the data it contains but the refrences it makes to other case law. If case B cites case A and is successful then case A will have a mark put in it saying that it was used a a precedent(sp?) and is more usefull. It also shows which laws and cases effectivly overturn previous ruleings. They spend a good deal of money poring trhough the documents and preparing the citations
When I was there (finshed last year) now making 80k coding, I often used other peoples code, and never was called in for it. However I did always put in the header "This code is not myown, I am resuing other peoples design. For more info please contact me." Dont know if their program is a just a way to keep people from copying or not. I remember being in the lab late at night and hearing people talking about trading code for one class(almost always compilers, That class should have been worth about 8 units for each of them) for another, say Operating systems.
The moral,
Code reuse is a good thing, just say that it is not original
Once I got my DSL installed I canceled my phone line. Now I only use a cell, however enven that is getting spamed because I give it out when asked for a home phone number(I tell them it is a cell) Some places just dont care. But call your phone company and cancel
So does the Oberon compiler I wrote in school count? what about the Search engine? Where I went to school (UCSD)there were classes where there were lots of small progurams done, ie to teach a concept, (sockets, semaphores, recursion etc) then there were classes which taught real programming. The compiler class was a group project which lasted 2 quarters, and by far required the most time of any class I took.
Actually most of CA was not totally deregulated because the utilites did not meet all of the requirements. Only San Diego was fully deregulated. The cost of electricity was passed off to the consumer down here. My home electric bills went from about 100 a month to about 350 in the middle of summer. Since then there have been caps and rebates applied to us in SD, My last bill was 220, but I got a rebate(they call it that but it is really a 5 year loan) so that I only paid 58. In 5 years they will come to me with all the loans due that I was given with out the option of paying. They I will really be screwed. In the rest of the state the utilites were not allowed to pass on the cost of electricity, so they were not totally deregulated, but we got screwed, some small businesses closed because of this, major stores would have 1/3 of their lights on,(it's amasing how dark walmart is with most of the lights off.) Durring the summer I cut my electric usage back about 30% (turned off the 3 computers which were 24/7 and replaced 60wat to 40 wat and 100 to 60 light bulbs, still my bills were more than 3 times more expensive.
I have a sony 945, I think it is cost about 500, it has some really anoying things on it. First My DVD and satalite have s-video but my playstation and vcr only have rca out. The reciever will not put both out to the same cable, I would expect it to make it so that all video goes out on all of the outputs but, rca in's go to rca'outs same with svideo. Then my TV a Toshiba 50 TheaterView projection can not have RCA and s-video hooked up on the same input set, so not only do I have to change which component on the reciever But I also have to change which component on the TV. It gets really anoying. Also the Remote sucks, It will not work with my Satalie(dishnetwork dishplayer, the one with a tivo built in) nor does it like the fact that I have a TV and a Cable box. It was not worth the money. The $200 sony sub that I got is great, except for the fact that it knocks pictures off the wall, but that is what it is supose to do. I have KLH-900 book shelf front speakers, cost 80 for hte pair at CostCo. I want to get the infiniti tower speakers whihc cost about 500. I also have a bose center channel, it sounds great and was worth the $200 it cost. For rear I have cheep klh $40 speakers, which work fine.
Ok, my wife does not work, but we still need two cars, how else is she going to go to PTA, Soccer etc, You are making an assumption that a person who stays at home with a child literally stays at home. They still have things to do, shopping, taking children to school, bringing me lunch:), and running other erinds. So we need the car.
My wife still wears clothes, same type of stuff I wear, jeans and shirts. No savings there. Ok, so there is the savings on day care, but what about the fact of wear and tear on my house, having two people there all day will certainly, wear out my floors faster, faucets, etc.
I am waiting for her to finsh school and start working so I can be the one who stays at home with my daughter.
All I use my latpop for is browsing code and typing. I am currently using a 266 AMD, it works find but the battery life is horriable. I have a 900 AMD for compiling my work on, so all they really need to do is, for most users, give decent speed at running word, so even if their 600 is only comparable to a intel 400 or even a 300 it will still do what most consumers use laptops for. Besides it sucks flying from Californa to North Carolina and have to cary 3 extra batteries just to use my laptop while I am on the plane.
I have a trinitron that was made in 1984, it does not do cable, so I have to plug in a VCR to use to change channels. But it still works, it sat outside of my parents house for about 6 years as the one that they would watch when having bbq's and other outside things
rather than allowing specific people to go first do it this way. On the first day each domain costs $2 million each day after that cut the cost in half until the cost is down to $10. this way, Microsux can pay their $2 mil if they really want their name otherwise I could buy it and post anything I want.
I agree, its like a car, or gun, it has a primary use but it can also be used for other things, say murder. But low and behold I drove my van to work this morning.

http://mricon.com/sm/guide/ I saw this in someones sig yesterday. It has lots of geat info. Ofcourse you could just read the how-to's on mail
I have them too. They have a new box that has somthing akin to a TIVO built in. I have the original one, but the new one looks even better. yes but the diffrence is that the money is already out of your pocket an you have to fight to get it back. With a CC you dont have to pay up at all.
I am buying a new house in San Diego, Property taxes are about 350 a month on a 300k house, oh and its only 1882 sq feet, and by backyard in all of 15 feet deep.

My wife hates when I turn on a computer, unless it is to check email, which she uses more than me.
They now have a diffrent agreement for california and oregon residents. I went this evening after work to get me one,
