    It seems like Microsoft is really going out of it's way to innovate in Windows 8. I just hope both Apple and Linux developers would add something similar, as it's hard drive failure can lead to huge problems. Yes, you can use RAID or something, but that will bring costs significantly up. It's better to see these things before failure actually happens.

    Rather than take sane precautions with your data such as RAID and/or backing up your information, you want a warning 1 minute before your drive fails?

    It might work too, If it weren't so easy to separate signal from noise. People like to pretend that they are random, Unpredictable. When in actuality it's rather easy to assign points to activities. A perfect example is the recent story of target sending advertisements for baby related things. Enough people had contributed enough data to anticipate a teenagers pregnancy needs before her father even knew.

    Even if you disagree with animal rights, This would be a very cost effective way to test theories. A sensor doesn't need food, water or shelter. And if you remove those factors, development costs go down.

    I find your refusal to accept the provided definitions interesting. I can cite a false flag event similar to the one RIAA is using. The cold war was started because ideological claims of events that had no bearing on reality. There was no "reason" for the cold war to exist other than those in power feared outcomes that were contrary to their political beliefs. Now, If you continue to insist on a different definition, I'll accept that your opinion differs from mine. But the point still stands that a false flag can be purely political in nature.

    Political or religious ideologies will sometimes use false flag tactics. This can be done to discredit or implicate rival groups, create the appearance of enemies when none exist, or create the illusion of organized and directed opposition when in truth, the ideology is simply unpopular with society.

    I'd recommend looking into the buffalo product line. They cater to that area a lot. I would buy a boxee, but I can't see a reason to. Most ITX platforms have a fairly good upgrade path, especially since some of them include quad core options with PCI-E. Throw in your media center software of choice and you don't have to deal with different online services blocking you because they don't like branded device X.

    If they manage to militarize space, commerce might begin in full force. Sadly, you don't get the kind of focus you need on something unless it has military applications. If you can get a nation to make a outpost in space, we're free and clear as far as surviving a major disaster.

    And REALLY piss off intel at the same time. Using Intel chips to decode hdcp would be pretty ironic. I mean, Can you imagine using the FPGA to do the grunt work of decoding and then using the cpu to re encode the stream?
