    current installation methods are a pain (I'm on Debian which probably makes it worse that on a lot of other distros)

    Last time I checked all you Linux users had to do was
    # ./j2somebullshit.bin

    and set a couple PATH variables. Try being a BSD user and compiling that huge bastard yourself, then you'll know the real pain of closed source java.

    Umm for all the MS lovers saying it's not Microsoft's fault, I work for a large web hosting comapany (work on UNIX servers, not Windows but still see everything that happens on both sides) and 99% of compromised boxes come from shit code allowing exploits. So one Microsoft representative claims it was the fault of an unpatched system, well I'm not buying it. More likely it was an exploit in shit code from a company whos specialty is insecure code.

    I can partially see your point, however I could care less about the interface. I just want it to work properly. Honestly, non of the 3 options given work for me.

    Outlook- Does that run on OpenBSD?
    Evolution- Might as well be running Outlook
    Kontact- Don't use KDE

    But Mozilla Mail works. Might not look pretty but it works, and that is what I'm after.

    Let me get this straight...you think that if functionality id put before design, that makes the author just a code-monkey? But if it looks good, no matter how bad it really sucks, the author is a software engineer?

    Honestly, how much can be done with the interface to an email client. It's meant to be functional, not look pretty.

    Gmail does rock hard. Even better when looking at it in my Mozilla Mail.

    This wasn't even about OpenBSD, it just ran off that direction because the Linux zealots had no argument against what I said to begin with. I find it quite disgusting that Nokia offered a small solid to the Linux community but instead of just taking that and moving on they decide to trash Nokia all day and immediately start coming up with ways to tie up Nokia's code with the GPL for their own use. If you're going to call me a troll, at least have the balls to log in and do it, AC.

    That's a pretty lame statement considering all my boxen run OpenBSD. No binary drivers + no non-free software = no way in hell its getting sued.

    In case you jarheads haven't gotten it yet BSD cannot die. The code is mine, given to me just like it was given to everyone else, with no restrictions. If I have to be the last hacker on Earth coding for BSD then so be it, but I doubt I'm alone.

    Good troll attempt though.

    This is exactly why I moved on to BSD long ago. A company offers a statement in writing saying they won't sue for past infringements, but does the Linux community take it in stride and just say thenks? O FUCK NO, they sit around and bitch because the company in question didn't give them free reign to do just whatever the hell they want to until the end of time.

    Only the format of the cd is Theo's copyright, which I don't see an issue with. Especially since he gives away the format file anyway. Am I to take it that it's only free if it's handed to you on a silver platter with absolutely no effort of your own. That is pretty lame.
