of course that wouldn't happen since there is too much money to be made. if we aren't going to make it illegal, just STFU. i can't stand all the "i don't like it, so noone should be able to do it". i don't like body odor, doesn't mean we should ban the french. wanna eliminate everything that causes health problems, good luck. insurance costs? well, i'de like to ban a lot of xtreme sports to lower my insurance costs too. oh well. if your going to let it be legal, get over it. resturaunt and bars should be allowed to make their own rules. most smokers (including myself) don't smoke while they eat and don't like smoke around when they eat. i doubt a voluntary no smoking policy will hurt a resturaunt. if anything, it would help. seeing as how most ppl hate smoke around their food, they would avoid resturaunts that allow it. those who can't get through a meal without smoking can go to the ones allow it. everyone's happy (except those who love to enforce their morals and preferences on others).

the point is, you will have the information, and thus the choice. if the cost difference is not that much, it won't be worth it. you won't drive down the road to save $.30 on a lbs of sugar, but you might for $200 if the tv you are looking at is on sale elsewhere. a lot of shoppers like to know they are getting the best price. this will let you combine impulse shopping with bargain hunting. if walmart truly believes their prices are the lowest, they will love this.

why would you need to prop the ipod up? last time i checked, you could operate it one-handed. unless you use both hands to jerk or have only one hand, this is not a problem. if the latter is true, i apologize for being an insensative clod in advance.

  16. Re:What will the others say.... on No Porn for You, iPod · · Score: 1

umm.. i think you misread. apple isn't stopping the porn industry, the porn industry is refraining (so far). there is no way apple can stop them if they wanted. if you support a video format, you have to play whatever is encoded in that format (wether it's an ipod, a tv, or a computer). it's like saying "apple won't allow lame songs to be played on the ipod, but creative and iriver will because they are desperate". i understand you want to clap for apple, but isn't really about them this time. besides, watching porn has nothing to do with "values".

also, i'm sure apple might secretly encourage the porn industry to setup on the ipod. not that the ipod needs any help, but having the vote of the porn industry is a big boost. just look at vhs.
