This may bother you, but everything on Debian is Open Source. And that means that you can take it and do whatever you want to with it, including porting it to windows.

This may shock you but you cannot "take it and do whatever you want to with it". I would receive a Richard Stallman rectal exam if I were to take any of the GPL components of Debian and utilized them in a commercial product without releasing the source. I have done some stupid, dumb things in my life like bungie jumping, walking in certain neighborhoods in New Orleans after midnight and running a NT webserver but there is one thing I would never dare to do. I would never do anything that caused Richard Stallman to come in contact with me. Now that's scary.

Respect the GPL or meet a fate worst than death!

IANASP (I am not a Stock Broker) but if I had some extra cash lying around, I think I would sink it into Tricon Global Restaurants, Inc (YUM) -- parent company of Taco Bell and that chicken shop that supposably sells dead fried birds that never had bones, feathers or feet with the mascot that reminds you of the "Good Ole Days" before the Civil War (War of Northern Aggression for you Georgia boys). One stop everyday at Taco Bell could power your PDA, Cell Phone, AbTronics Belt, GPS, IBM's Digital Photo Linux Watch, iPod and a Madonna Vougeing Aibo via a rear mounted methane to electric converter. Plus, if Hollywood can predict the future, according to Sly Stallone's movie "Demolition Man", every restaurant is going to be a Taco Bell anyway...

The last thing in the world we could want to see is Wil Wheaton's career suffer. We need a petition to urge the producers of this future flop not to hire Wil Wheaton. After reading his website and responses to questions on Slashdot, I started to really like this guy and learned that he is not the dweeb I once imagined. We all know this movie will be a boring morality play where the Prime Directive will be violated during a temporal distortion caused by Data's emotion chip malfunctioning after having a "human" moment with Jorde's visor in the privacy of the holodeck.

However, I hope every scene is filled with Brent Spinner. After that "Ol' Yellow Eyes is Back" album, he deserves to spend the rest of his life having to listen to plot flaws while signing autographs for socially-retarded Acne cream test subjects. Also, I hope that they make Marina Sirtis cover up. At her present age, they must be bouncing off her knees now.

We have Apple lawyers talking about Trademarks, Copyrights, Intellectual Property and EULA violations. They MUST virgously defend these things or they are doing a disservice to their stockholders. No matter what you think, if you do not defend your rights, you lose them because you are sending out a signal to the world that your property is ripe for the taking.
