    At the risk of going off topic, http://web.amnesty.org/pages/deathpenalty-sentence s-eng tells me there where over 8000 executions in china compared to 60 in the US last year. Wikipedia states that the US has some 299,102,661 people so thats works out at around 2.00600021 × 10^-7 executions per capita (or decapita per capita :). But China has some 1,315,844,000 people (wikipedia) so around 6.07974806 × 10^-6 executions per capita.

    So like I said China wins.

    No, that exits the loop if the beer can is not 25% full. You want it to to wait till you need one: "while (drunk == false) { if(beer_can_contents/beer_can_volume = .25) getMeABeer(); }", but that still is not perfect you want something like "while (drunk == false) {

    That would require a 4GB/s bus as well as some pretty powerful processors to feed it. 16 port gigabit is not going to be cheap for some time. For comparison the RAM in your PC is likely only on a 3.2GB/s bus.

    I might be wrong but could you not brute force the hash? All it would take is for you to enter a few wrong PINs into the reader and observe the relationship between the hash and the PIN, then knowing the PIN must be 4 digits long, generate a hash for all the PIN numbers up-until you find a match? Or is the hash seeded with data only on the card?

    Changing Qemu sounds like the better way to do this, the cpuid thing is an unprivileged instruction. Linux does not really care that they are called and has not part in changing the data the programme gets. But as qemu is a fast cpu emulator you could molest all the cpuid data you would ever want to with little slow down.
