You seem to have no experience with this at all. Please actually try or at least do research on the things you're talking about.

I installed Ubuntu on my sister's computer when she saw XGL running on mine and asked about it. She has a GeForce 2, which works with the legacy drivers in the repository. It does not break with kernel updates as you say it does. With Ubuntu's update manager she can perform updates by herself. She doesn't have a DVD drive on her computer, but on mine DVDs play fine, and even ignore region encoding (unlike Windows players). She thinks Shockwave games are stupid, like most people. Streaming video works fine. Her iPod Shuffle works well with Rhythmbox. Everything she wants to do is easily done, and she doesn't have to deal with the problems of Windows98 (which is what she used to have).

Not nessicarily. Think of this scenario:
CounterTerrorists' plan is to send in everybody with MP5s until they've got enough to buy sniper rifles and bullpups.
Terrorists' plan is to stay hidden and defend the hosties with shotguns until they have enough money to buy scoped weapons.
They test in practice matches, and the CT's strategy works well.

The match is on Sunday, and the prices change that day. MP5s and Bullpups get more expensive. Shotguns get cheaper. The T's will save more money, and will afford sniper rifles and kreigs before the CTs have enough money to buy their own long range weapons. Thus the Terrorist snipers will be able to keep the CTs back.

I didn't mean just the last letter, but the entire last syllable. "-tion" is one of the most awkwardly spelled syllables in the English language, and attempting to read it as Romaji would result in an incorrect pronounciation. It's easily writtin in Katakana, but only if you totally disregard the English spelling and focus on actual pronounciation, (which seems to not be the case most of the time).

You have to remember that Nintendo is a primarily Japanese company. "Revolution" is nigh-impossible to write or say in Japanese, what with that crazy V, the confusion between Ls and Rs, and that funky ending. Actually, the ending would probably be the easiest thing to say, since it's the only thing with a semi-direct phonetic equivalent.

Once I was emerging world and one of the files it downloaded for bash was "invalid". The file wasn't corrupt, but the portage tree had the wrong checksum. And since the install scripts were MD5'd also, I couldn't easily edit it to skip the check. I had to downgrade the version (which subsequently downgraded some other packages). Seriously, how hard is it to test the installer on one of the most vital packages in the system before you put it in the stable tree?

That was the day I switched to Ubuntu.
