but for a human, walking up to an already-drawn circle, you can either a) measure the diameter (100% effective and accurate)
Sorry, if you "walk up on a circle" you can't guess at a diameter either. You have to make a geometric construct to find the center so your diameter measurement is correct. You might as well measure the radius at that point.
It looks more like the rail truck accelerates the launch vehicle to mach 1 which leaves the end of the track and the scramjet lights and carries it and its payload to mach 10 at about 20 miles altitude. The payload then separates from the launcher, the rocket ignites and sends the payload into orbit. The launch vehicle returns and lands for reuse.
This sounds a lot more feasible than a mach 10 rail gun!
Usually, the best thing for fire fighters to do with compressed gas fires is to let them burn. The fuel most likely can not be removed because the container is broken or valves blown off, etc. Controlling the area and letting the fuel consume itself is often the best or only choice.
Yes, but if you could take that same H2 and some coal or Nat gas and make gasoline, cheap with an enzyme... No more oil imports, little to no infrastructure changes! Sounds good to me!
Thank god for early adopters! I'll see you all in 5 to 10 years when this all might make sense to us ordinary folks.
What I'm looking for is an electric jeepoid. I live in a high snow area, but I don't travel very far. The short distances are ideal for EVs but I need the ground clearance and AWD.
My wife drives a 1985 Ford Ranger 4x4 mini-pickup. 25 years old. She bought it new. Now it's not the prettiest but still serviceable. If you change the oil and perform basic maintenance virtually any vehicle will last 25 years, YMMV.;-0
The next time you go to a concert of your favorite band or group, who needs them to be there? Just some big speakers and a tape recorder ought to be enough. I bet they could even make the tickets a little cheaper! It's just as good!

Could be. Wouldn't be the first time. Woof, woof!
750K for $35. Move out of the city and price goes way up. sigh.
Whoa... They know I'm running Ubuntu. It comes up at the top when I get to "linu". I wonder if they know my shoe size???
I liked the internet so much better when the prudes were scared of it.
Let's return now to those thrilling days of yesteryear!
"Are you saying this sucker's nuclear???"
Don't worry. Wars are great at reducing surplus male populations. Ok, on second thought worry.
I read it as, "Robots attack men with virtual girlfriends."
I thought, jealous robots?!
And Hamill's sig inside is pretty cool too!

All very true. Thank you.
It got me thinking though. I've never seen a solar collector as efficient as a field of sugar beets. ;D
I just got a tax bill based on the probability that there may or may not be $20 in my wallet. WTF!
Who else is going to fix all the damn robots?
"Where are my sharks with laser beams then!?"
Don't you know? They stole your flying car!
We should get all the John and Jane Does in the country to counter sue. Ought to be a buck or two in there somewhere.
Now I know why the Enterprise had 1000 crew members. 750 walk around and clean touch pads.
Or from the Amiga days, a Video Toaster and a Jelly Jet Printer!

Sorry, I didn't have my sarcasm flag up. ;-) I'd be really pissed off if I paid for a live show and got a tape.

"What gives anyone the right to use legal force against a business owner who doesn't configure his property so that it caters to particular people? "
Short answer, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
Sue under the ADA.
