You scoff, but this is how I found out my laptop was cheating on me. Started losing weight, hanging out with other OSes. Then I came early one day, and caught it dual-booting with not one, but two usb drives.
I'm going to file a patent on "A series of tubes( not a big truck) that are designed to handle enormous amounts of material in a serialized manner, so that when you put your message in, it gets in line and it's going to be delayed by anyone that puts into that tube enormous amounts of material. "
Well, in regards to Germany's WWII performance compared to the United States, you can take a lot of ground when you use deception and modern hardware against a foe. Lets not forget, Poland threw mounted Calvary against tanks. Not much of a contest.
More or less, if we picked our battles(and not just militarily, economically and politically as well), we could beat the crap out of China. If we did not, we could lose badly.
And while I am wary of playing hardball with China, I see it as an eventuality at this point. China wants to rule the world. If they would only taker their place as an ally, an equal, everything would be fine.
Is China your daddy?
And, umm, sorry to ruin the China love fest, but China has 1.3 Billion people. The US population is 300 million. More of a 4-1 ratio. Would I bet agaisnt them if the US invaded?
Hell no, cause I never get involved in a land war in Asia
But could the United States lay a beat down on China, mongul style? Hell yes.
Our military is superior on every front except numbers. And if it came down to a Nuclear showdown, I don't know how many weapons they could get to the United States, but it would be more a question of how many could they get off before the United States reduced them to rare-earth elements.
Now Am I saying a military solution is the answer? No.
But the United States isn't some limp-dicked European Nationa either.
I think that situations like this will become more and more visible. In a case of "live by the sword, die by the sword" the Chinese attitude towards their hacker community will become more of an issue. Much like gun violence is an issue in the United States, the abundance of oppertunities to develop the skill sets needed for basic net-tomfoolery will make this an issue for China.
I used to have to work with both FairPoint and Verizon with my IT duties( I had to manage mutiple t-1). It was very nice working with Verizon. I would connect to the Verizon PCC in Boston, and they didn't mess around. Even when I would call at 3 am, they had people on it. Usually tookem them less than an hour to fix ANYTHING.
FailPoint, I would leave a message with FairPoint's voicemail.
They usually would get someone on it withion 24 hours. Usually.
The law states its illegal to:
"knowingly collect or receive health-related information or personal information for marketing purposes from a minor without first obtaining verifiable parental consent"
MARKETING PURPOSES being the operative term here. This looks like a good law to me
FUCK CARS!
They get in the way of my horse and buggy. On top of that, if no one has a horse and buggy, what are they going to do when an emergency limits the amount of available gas!
Sweet. Just what we need, a bunch of/b/tards, trolls, and the dregs of society decideding where the money is going to go. I hope you like fast speeds for torrents, pron, and videos of Hitler.
I did eHarmony, and it was far better than the other online dating stuff. And I have absolutly no game, so eHarmoney took alot of the heavy lifting out of the dating game.
And as for the results, I married my second match. We have a 2 year old boy, and life is good.
At my former employer, customers would call the national helpdesk, who were rated by their time on a call. Let me tell you, the type of customer service you get from that environment is crap. They would have the customer reboot their machine, and if that didn't work, they would escalate the call to a state level operations center that could dispatch technicians (where I worked). They were, for the most part, useless. They made the customers angry, and really served no purpose other than a filter.
Verizon Wireless is going to start rolling out LTE tomorrow for testing( or at least so I've heard). ATT and Verizon both have rights to the spectrum that broadcast tv is leaving tonight, and VZW wants to get moving on it asap. They should have LTE G4 by earlier next year. ATT probably a little afterwards. Intrestingly enouhg, Apple's contract ends next year. You think they will have a LTE G4 phone ready for both ATT and VZW?
I don't know that they need to sell it at cost. Do you see Motorola out their hawking their phones at cost? Nope. Apple has the product. I think they need to find a loophole in their contract, and bring the iPhones to all carriers. I know I would snach one up if they were on VZW
I guess it doesn't do EVERYTHING the Intel Atom does.

FLY HER APART THEN!
Just re-route power through the main deflector.

The regional ISPs now have direct control over their territories. Fear will keep the local systems in line. Fear of this Firewall.

Mod me down, I don't care. Ham Radios are outdated tech. Just because it can come in handy doesn't mean we should bend over backwards for it.

40-50% is when people start blaming an ethnic group, put a dictator in charge, and eye Poland longingly
No, no, no, no, no. This sucker's electrical. But I need a nuclear reaction to generate the 7 TeV of electricity I need.

So the iphone was fine after the case melted?

...So volcanos are terrorists? Or is the Earth trying to Carradine itself?

You have to proactivly think outside the box to imagine the synergy that the 4-D database brings to the current paradyme
