Indeed, i should have mentioned this specifically. The pocket browser on here is amazing. It even beats the mobile version of Opera by a long-shot. Mostly in how it *doesn't* render pages "properly". When absolute widths are specified, it will automatically minimize them so that no column of text is wider than the screen, meaning: no side scrolling, this and about 1000 other little tiny things makes this the absolutely best mobile browser i've ever used.

Have to wholeheartedly agree. I have an E61 (not an E62) that I absolutely love. I've not had any problems with this phone at all (save getting it to sync when I first got it -- there was no sync software (for OSX) at all since it was too-new but that was solved by time)

In addition, the most important thing for me is quite simple. I trust Jack Bauer. I would trust Jack Bauer with my life. I don't trust Bush. I wouldn't trust this idiot to hold a cup of coffee without spilling it.
I believe that when Jack Bauer tortures someone, or Jack Bauer wiretaps a phone without due process he does it because he has no other alternative. I believe that when this president tortures people, or orders illegal wiretaps he does it because he can, in a very capricious way with no regard for the law, or for life.

I bought an unbranded SLVR and it does everything you want, except it's not 3G. It is however a very nice phone. It's eminetnly capable, Motorola phones have a large userbase and are rather hackable. I was able to use VirtualPC to put iTunes on the phone and perform other various hacks. It works great as a modem to use with my t-mobile plan (20/month for unlimited data).
I like bluetooth, and like not having to carry one more cable, even if I do usually carry that cable for charging purposes, I don't want to be fucked if I forget the cable at home. Hence, bluetooth is basically a must for me. As well, I use my HS850 with my phone, so having bluetooth is equally important for that.
GPRS can be a bit slow, but for what I use it for (IM, SSH, very light web) it works fine, the latency over SSH is more of an issue, but EDGE and EVDO do not solve either. (just becuase it's faster doesn't mean it has less latency).
Overall, I am particularly happy with my setup.

The security lapse isn't with bad software, it's with bad policy and hapless users. If you connect to a fraudlent base station, then you can intercept banking passwords even on with connections that use end-to-end encryption. Why, and why isn't this protected. Simple. If you connect to a website, even the most-secure site in the world using SSL. If there is something wrong with the SSL certificate you will be presented with a dialog asking you if you want to accept the certificate. 99% of people blindly click yes, because clicking no means that it "wont work" and clicking yes means it "will work". So to the average user there is no downside to clicking yes and a large downside to clicking no. Enough with the psychology though. Once you have clicked yes on this dialog the entire chain of communication is now suspect. You cannot be sure that there is not someone sniffing your connection. Even if you check the certificate and everything looks OK (Sane information in text fields) you still can't be sure that it's valid unless you compare the signature of the SSL certificate with a known-good one. So, the real danger here lies in unsigned SSL certificates and hapless users. This type of attack is just as easy to orchestrate (if not easier) by associating with any wireless access point and spoofing dns or even on a wired network.

It's not like we are out every single night getting plastered (speaking for myself) but every once and a while I personally like to get thoroughly plastered. There is nothing wrong with this so long as you don't engage in otherwise socically irresponsble behaviors (IE driving drunk). Drinking is not the cause of such behaviors, for someone to drink and drive they must have an inherient character flaw that allows them to have such a reckless disregard for human life.
