The Dell Ultrasharp 21" rocks your mom's world. I'll never go back to CRT, this looks too good (especially for games).
dell has an UltraSharp 19", 20", 20" widescreen, and 24" widescreen. No 21" LCD. You probably have the Dell FP2001, which is the 20" that replaced the FP2000.
Sorry, you have to put it in the charger to power the foodarackacycle (we all know Star Trek food replicators are just Sci Fi dreaming) once a week to restock the mouse kibble.
Otherwise the mouse just doesn't have the energy to run on his little wheel.
A computer shop however has different motivations.
They are motivated by a need to profit, not because they are greedy corporations, but because they need to pay the rent, by the sales and service staff a fair wage, etc. These things require an income stream.
However, there is nothing inherent in open source that prevents making aprofit from it. They can't charge for the code, but as I recall they can charge a reasonable fee for the media its distributed on. They can give classes on its use. They can charge for support.
All of which requires outside the box thinking and skilled personnel on the part of the shop, so don't expect them to be buying it in a big way; but you could plant a seed.
Probably the same type of mod thats been modding all my posts as Trolls. I think the thought that there might be two Popemobile's is inherently a Troll
iPod photo's are now $350 for 30GB, and you can be sporting an iPod shuffle for $99. But at the pawn shop they likely aren't worth a fraction of that, especially since they sport serial numbers that Apple records for you. A pawn shop recently got caught selling a hot iPod and the resulting raid netting $20,000 in recovered stolen goods, which the shop owner won't be compensated for at best, and might get charged if someone can prove he knew the items were stolen.
And yes, the radio will work fine in your pocket. They use local rebroadcasting in urban areas to compensate for the buildings, but in general I'm sure you'll find the reception roughly matches that of FM radio. No 18" satellite dish pointed at an invisible sattelite required
actually if the ground were to be cooled then moisture would condense directly onto its surface
And what happens when the tractor comes by to plow the ground? These pipes would have to be buried pretty deep to avoid harm, which means they need to pump a lot of energy to cool the surface soild which is 12 " away. Now imagine the scale of a modern midwestern megafarm.
I predict we get this right after the flying cars we were promised in the 1950's...
George Lucas sure will make a profit off that, but is all profit-making a ripoff?
Yes, per the Slashdot manual, Making a Profit = Evil; Mr Lucas and all the other corporations should just write it off, because once the start producing worthy goods, somebody else who has the money will happily pay for something us poor schlubs who don't have meny get for free.
I assume you don't have a daughter browsing the web then. I can spend several hours removing the crap from my parents computer the few weekends a year I come to back to visit.
Unfortunate, though, that it can't be used as a shining, piracy free star in an otherwise ugly niche of the internet.
Yeah, because nobody uses Bit Torrent for piracy NOW.
BT Search could easily work with content providers to filter out copyrighted works from the results. It wouldn't be perfect but it would be enough to prove theri intentions, much like Apple's iTunes. That really seems to be the main thing they are looking for anyway.

And yeah, the Dell LCD's rock.
My company requires me to read my email at least 5 times a day. You think I have a lawsuit?

A regulated monopoly run as a for profit company? Why would you dream about that?

Thats why I'm waiting for someone to adapt the "shake to charge" flashlight tech for my Wireless keyboard & mouse...

Its what we Pope's like to call Slashtopia
If only the Pope had some mod points

In other words, posting here means your mod attempt was retracted (without refund, I might add).
The Blog Pope is immune to your puns...
Sorry, the role of Blog Pope has now been filled.
