First thing I'd like to say is, I am part of the legalise drugs crowd, and I'm coincidentally Australian as well.
The only drugs I use are already legal (alcohol).
You have made the best case I've heard for why drugs should remain illegal. However my biggest argument for legalising all drugs is that "prostitution, human trafficking, people smuggling" will be virtually eliminated when there is no drug money to fund these activities.
The other argument I have is the money received through taxation would allow for a truly world class rehabilitation program, although I'm cynical enough to know the government will find the best possible way to piss it away on a $900 giveaway or overpriced school sheds, I would hope this can bring so real relief to not just indigenous communities but all drug addicts
The last and most important point is that, drugs are exactly as you describe expensive and destructive, but if somebody is foolish enough to use, I would rather the profits don't go to criminals
I use Jumba's 29.95 a year budget option to host my website (The empty shell of a thing that it is) and that obviously includes mail as well.
I know you said you didn't want webspace as well but for the price it is the best I've found, considering you can setup as many subdomains as you want and there are no limits on the number of aliases you can have
btw i'm not a shill just a satisfied customer
Me and my friend at school did a similar thing to a few of the extremely slow windows 95 computers in our lab, we swapped the start up and shut down screens on the machine so anyone that turned it on would see the orange/black it's now safe to turn off your computer message.
This is one of the most interesting comments I've read on slashdot for a while. Why do I never have mod points when I read something good. All the same, thanks again
I don't like flimsy articles rehashing the same old stuff just because a new distro is out either. It the rest of what you've said
they are Different Things They are both operating systems. They are very much the same thing, we should compare them so we can choose between 2 competing products and decide which would suit our needs.
as if somehow Window is the "baseline" for this benchmark I know you don't agree with that and neither do I, but like it or not Microsoft operating systems are number 1 based on the number of installs and that's why a comparison is prudent.
A worthwhile review would be one that covers the top 3-4 operating systems and outlines strengths and weaknesses of each, but I think most people on/. have already done that for themselves
Careful, nothing is ever free. I live by the old adage: "Linux is only free if your time is worthless"
Things have improved beyond recognition but it will be just as long before another operating system replaces Windows.
As an Australian citizen I just got one of these a month ago. I don't know what they are talking about biometric data being stored, I did not submit a thumbprint or undergo an Iris scan. It was just a regular passport application with only my name etc, so unless the government already has this information on file which I'm sure they don't. This e-passport is just a normal passport with my information on the chip.

Great book, It is exactly what the poster is looking for. Its all about taking the things you learnt as a beginner and improving on them

Just work out how to use the bold tag?
I can't believe no-one has pointed out you comment is 17,000,000. I guess it's not as exciting as 16777215 was.
Are you responsible for this by any chance? Christmas Lights
