    That's fine and all, except it's false. In your so-called "land of the free", private institutions are NOT allowed to refuse to do business with anyone they please. There's a whole slew of anti-discrimination laws that deal with that. I would guess it is forbidden to discriminate against someone for their political beliefs.
    Besides, I though your party found Jews bashing to be cool, nowadays.

    I still have to pay a flat tax of 5 euros even when it's a marked as "gift" - if any value is declared I'll pay import taxes on top of this, but there is no escape from the 5 euros tax.
    Things are only going to get worse as the dollar sinks lower, the EU parliament has decided that we must be protected from very cheap goods.

    I'd find it hard to respect the first guy who comes around and mows my lawn without being asked to and possibily against my wishes, who then proceeds to act like he deserves anything. I'm not sure you realize my fictional lawn is my property.

    Wait a second, by your definitions every security consultant in the world is implicitely extorting money from me by not telling me what my weak points are. I am *sure* I have some, yet they won't speak up unless I pay.
    It's a professional service. They provide you with info, you pay them.

    Well, I for one don't feel like reinstalling and *reconfiguring* all of my productivity suites and servers and services and app settings just because I upgraded to better hardware (or, as in my last switch, a not-running-up-to-80 C-and-then-resetting mobo :D).
    You said yourself you'd only reinstall on a test machine.

    I switched from an Athlon XP to a Pentium 4 to an AMD 64 and I'm still using the same system.

    Revert your controllers drivers to the generic ones that ship with Windows and uninstall your graphic drivers, too, then swap the disk and reboot - on first boot it will be a bit slow but will pick up all your hardware and then you can install the right drivers for the controllers.
    I've kept the same system across 3 different mobo's with different chipsets and processors - not a glitch.

    Oh my, we're missing you already.
    Besides, it's not that we don't understand - we simply don't care. I hope you realize how arrogant you sound by implying that anybody who *understands the truth* would agree with you, therefore those who don't must be stupid. Ever stopped to wonder why most sysadmins, definitely more knowledgeable than you, spend their time scripting their GUI-less systems? It must be because they're all stupid.

    Yeah, the same way it happens when you go to the police and say "This guy here just mugged me". I don't know about the USA but in my country the guy is essentially let free by default. And if you dare defend yourself during the mugging *you* go to jail.
    Yeah offtopic and does not apply to this bill, but don't use fallacious arguments, please.
    That said, sucks to be you and be treated like this, but I suspect we (Europeans) will follow suit soon enough.

    I suppose it wouldn't be that hard to buy some 0 days and code a worm that exploits them to virally install some security suite or at least kill the tcp stack of infected machines. But you would need a covert ops team of a few people and some money to buy the sploits. Who's going to fund this? Besides, it woudln't take long for the bad guys to smell the coffe and become even more secretive about their sploits - I believe they are traded regularly ATM but who knows what might happen if such a scenario were to come into existance.
