What do they mean make the preferred members pay. They paid for the perferred membership anyway, just consider 2 cents of that twords "paying" for internet.
It will change Wikipedia, but for the better. As you may have seen on Wikipedia, there has been some vandalism, and this looks dumb and takes away from the greatness of Wikipedia.
I don't think it will work. The Discovery channel and others tried this through shows like Junkyard Wars. But it always seemed that they started losing their audience and so they hired hosts that knew nothing about science. You could argue the point that the Discovery channel has shows about engineering, but only geeky kids watch them.
And with this monopoly(SBC-Yahoo) you would have two companies trying to dsl the whole nation. This is smarter than letting others claim area's(like mine) and not offer dsl, which I wish I have because of the price.
You bet! My two problems with them is that they have sloopy, crashy code in the OS. The second is that they are one of the few OS's NOT based on UNIX. I personally have no love for Microsoft.
Of a guy who gave up isp's all together. And it's practical for your email. Buy a domain for about $15/yr and find hosting anywhere from $1-$10 per month. This gives you no filtering, and so then you can go and download and/or write your own spam filter.
If they do it right, it will help identify what open source projects are auctually still being updated and which ones have potential. What I see here is a rating guide for investors to choose projects to pour their funding into.
You cannot escape the EAS when you are on the radio. Even if it sounds unbelieveable, you can't just say that you "missed" it, as many devices flash at you and pop-ups florish excitably on the computer.
Let's face it - Microsoft will never program a web browser that will pass the Acid2 test. That's not Microsoft's sort of thing. Gates is more interested in crashing and setting bad standards.
A friend of mine built one of these a few months ago on a space pentium 2 and also built a firewall with another, so is this really that breaking news?

And I thought they were being sued for the name Vista? Why not make up another cheesy name, spend the time doing so and then include the Monad Shell.
Why not build a roller coaster right through it, and call it Universal Studio's, only be filming at the same time.

When do we clone frozen people like Walt Disney?
They also look differently in the electromagnetic spectrum.
"With dual-core processors trickling into the mainstream and multitasking poised to become more popular"
Don't they mean dual-core and 64bit processors?
Though I do agree that IDE hard drives have needed a speed boost.
Old game developers are awesome because they usually were poor and put their all into fun games. Go Pacman!

W: Yee of little faith now changes name to Linux user 2.
