'because Revolution can run GameCube software, when you play Twilight Princess on Revolution you can take advantage of the Revolution controller.'
Is it just the way I'm reading this, or does Miyamoto-san's statement here sort-of imply that *all* GCN games will be able to use the new controller in some way? He seems to be saying it in an "of course it will" kind of way. Perhaps it will be similar to the XBOX 360s backward compatibility stuff, where you have to download the files to be able to play the old games: maybe you download a special configuration file to allow use of the controller. This might not really be that hard to implement, but doing it with any degree of success and maintaining accurate conrol might be difficult - and I can only really imagine Nintendo-published games taking advantage of this.
AFAIK those were just rumours, and the site you linked to quotes NGC Magazine as their source: when they published it, Nintendo denied the whole thing. This is the first *actual* public announcement from someone other than an "anonymous source".
After trying out the earlier beta, and being disappointed, I thought I'd give this one a go. When I try to run it, my desktop icons flash (you know, like it's being refreshed), and IE7 fails to start up; a window appears for a couple o' milliseconds but then nothing. Trying to open a HTML file with it gains no more success, I'm just told the file doesn't exist (I know it does). I haven't used any form of IE for quite some time, so this could have been happening with IE6, but still, can anyone help?
I think that's Schmidt's point. Eventually, when the technology has been further developed, when we get the replacement to 3G that has obsene transfer rates, when companies like Google take an active role in the development of these phones (or at least the software). Google are just laying the foundations for another avenue of revenue for themselves.
Oh, and how long before this gets added to the Opera buying Google rumours? Remember, Opera's mobile browsing techology makes them a big target.
Both the series and the film are currently in the top ten selling items on Amazon.com. The film is above Star Wars III, which, considering it's heritage, is a mighty achievement. Okay, so the DVD of the film was only released today, so it may very well quickly disappear, but the series has been a consistant seller for 2/3 years now - really, the reason a film was made.
Reality shows prove again that stupidity is the core audience.
Apparantly it is. The core audience of Slashdot, I mean. If you'd RTFA (or even paid attention to the summary), you would have realised that that is the explanation given to the participants in the show, not the public. And is it really that hard to believe people will accept it? The large majority of people still believe a heavier object will fall faster than a light one. Anyway, I've been watching the show, and it's by far the best "reality TV" I've seen (maybe doewn to Johnny Vaughn's presance, actually). And the poor people being conned? They get to be on TV, get advertising deals, have had a great experince, as well as getting paid £5000 a day for their time in space.
That's Windows Live, not Xbox Live. And all it is is a Personalised Homepage thing...just like Google and Yahoo!'s offerings. See it here - http://www.live.com/ Yeah, similar names - but not similar enough that you should really get confused.
Oh, there is really little question that 'ATV' has superior graphics - all PSP games should have better graphics than the DS. They are *really* aimed at a different market.
Yes, the game has 'bends in the road'. If this impresses you so little, why did you go on about that being the problem with MK? The flat tracks? And you say "cheap equipment"...I really don't know what you mean. Yes, the prices are generally lower, but it does not mean they dont use cutting edge tech. GCN games are easily comparable to Xbox games, and far surpass the PS2 in most cases. The N64 was played host to some of the best games ever. If you mean build quality, you obviously havent seen the tests that have been done. Drop a PSP = Game Over. Drop a DS = Continue?
You can keep your "street racing" games...I'll stick to Advance Wars DS, Mario Kart, and Nintendogs. 3 of the best games of the year,
Mode7? Wrong. Mode7 was a way of stretching and scaling 2D sprites to create the illusion of 3D http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mode_7 used on the SNES and GBA because the hardware was unable to support 3D (without a special chip, like Starfox/Starwing). This new DS game uses *proper* 3D polygons, and is only the 2nd game in the series to have fully modelled characters (this and MK:DD).
So it has definatly changed since 1991...plus, now you race on one screen, map on the other - I could never cope with the original's half-screen.
Wow, it's like all the Google rumours rolled up into one, easily digestible, "M$-Killa". Calm down, man - I think the only place that could be realistic is in one of my wet dreams. Um, forget that last bit.

No, no, no. It's Spider-Man who will make you gay.

The chances of anything coming from Mars were a million to one, he said.
But still, they come.

Okay, so it didn't do anywhere near what most fans had hoped for, but it appears boxofficemojo haven't correctly updated Serenity's weekly theatre count, so I wouldn't base anything on those figures yet.
