    The current state of Javascript and Web browser technology makes it impossible to efficiently implement memory protection and/or preemptive multitasking between multiple "processes" running in a web based OS. I have tried myself to get around this problem by implementing a virtual machine in Javascript and running the processes on the virtual machine, but this is slow and messy. Until we have web browsers which are actually designed to run this sort of stuff, a web based OS will never really be able to approach a traditional OS in functionality for anything but the most trivial applications.

    Or medical science advances to the point where anyone can survive and reproduce no matter what genetic problems they have, so there are no evolutionary advantages/disadvantages and we stop evolving altogether.

    They use a phased array antenna, where a pilot beam is sent from the ground and the satellite's circuits synchronise the phase of the power beam to the pilot beam. This helps the satellite to aim correctly and makes it physically impossible for it to focus the beam anywhere except on the receiver.

    setting the IP number for anything in certain domains to 127.0.0.1 just like I do.

    Wouldn't the correct solution be to return NXDOMAIN rather than 127.0.0.1?

    TV stations here in Australia are already putting ads at the bottom of the screen during a show sometimes. (Usually just promoting their own programs, but sometimes also sponsored advertising)

    ADSL2+ is becoming obsolete... Tell that to Telstra. (Australia's largest ISP, started selling ADSL2+ for the first time less than a month ago.)

    although you cannot hear above 20,000 Hz the harmonics all the way to 100,000Hz _do_ impact what you hear.

    At least half of that sentence must be wrong. By definition, if a sound wave affects the information being sent from your ears to your brain, you can hear it.

    Scientists can invent some crazy new words to define various types of planet, and just leave "planet" being an imprecise term used by the general public.
