That would just be so black and yellow and give everyone a warm fuzzy feeling. Only the feeling you get from, you know, knowing you're protected by Symantec and all...
... who promise more bandwidth than they can actually give out. I suppose it's the same as gMail - no one will probably ever use 2GB of email storage. It's worse this time around though, because we're the ones who are actually paying for the bandwidth.
But, if people are going to blame google video, iTunes, and YouTube, you might as well blame hard drive manufacturers for being able to increase disk density by ridiculous amounts. Hell, just blame ISPs for starting the high speed revolution in the first place.
*shrug* I suppose the only options are to offer "real" amounts of bandwidth at a much, much lower price.
Yes, antibiotics are reserved to fight bacterial infections, but it's stupid to say you can not vaccinate against bacterial infections and only virii. Why do we take pre-emptive measures to fight bacterial meningitis by way of vaccination?
Perhaps I'm mistaken, but it is my believe a vaccination is merely a precautionary cure regardless of the type of ilness (bacteria / virus)...
"It felt like I was in a big video game. It didn't even faze me, shooting back. It was just natural instinct. Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! "
A lot of people are scared by stuff like this, but in my eyes, it's how it has to be. We're not talking about cold-blooded killing, we're talking about one of mankind's greatest quirk - war.
It's all a matter of making a more effective soldier out on the battlefield. One might liken my perspective to that of "brainwashing" or "propaganda" used by Nazis and Japanese in WWII, but I think it is more mild and acceptable like our propaganda.
Again, this can be interpreted as pretty shallow, but I'm willing to discuss it:)
Yahoo is considering free offers, discounts and rewards to users of its search engine. Here are some of the possible incentives listed in a recent survey of Yahoo's customers:
Five free music downloads per month
Donations to charity (of users' choice)
Unlimited Yahoo mail storage (instead of 1 GB)
Discounted personals (one free month and $19.95 per month thereafter, instead of $24.95)
On a more serious note, I think the Internet is fine as it is. Would you not agree that as it is, the internet is a very succesful thing? Why make such radical changes to it that could shake it up?
Oh, whoops, this is capitalism.
"Previous attempts to set up a two-tier net have failed"
Does this say anything to anyone else? Yeah yeah, it's probably like people saying to the Wright brothers, "Previous attempts at flying have failed," but this is something of a totally different scope and I think that failure is imminent.
The internet itself is a revolutionary public communications system. It is my opinion that the internet is far greater than the postal service or the telephone service. Not so much from a technical standpoint, but the fact is, so much of it is user-created and comes at little expense. It's a public form of communication, and it should be left as it is for the good of the people.
Well, seeing as you know much more than I do (truthfully), how does one attack a said "isolated" network? I would expect a government network that would undergo such testing for cyber security would not be isolated..?
Cyber Storm took place on computers isolated from the net
Right... This way they're not actually vulnerable to anything, such as BotNet attacks by little script kiddies who want ad revenue. Or maybe they just were afraid of Windows Update.
I do think you certainly meant trailer... I checked dictionary.com and there was no entry for trailor...
*sigh* I figured/. editors would be able to spell in the first place, preview their work, or at the least, use a spellcheck in 2005. You always bug me about using the damn preview comment feature, so use it yourselves:)
I must say I like the video. Looks neat. I especially love the part when the
transformer is about to drive right off the table. Shame it can't transform into
a plane and fly away into outer space or something like that. Call me and wake me up when I can fit in one of these things.
What an awesome life story. As a youngin' who's a freshman engineering student, I tip my cap to you good sir.

$5 says this is from DUBCD 2.0 if you're in on software boot packages. It contains some Winternals software.
I'm afraid I can't do that, rilister.

All of which will be succeeded by Pentium PWNED Edition
I didn't think Intel could make a processor that ran hotter than the Prescott series.
They probably do this already. You just don't know about it because your Government doesn't want you to know about it. Oh, whoops.
Sadly, I'm on myspace :( I saw a plug for ABC's "Grey's Anatomy - The Complete First Season" or something ridiculous. WTF???
The fifth of November. Coincidence anyone?!??!
Quite insightful! I think that some feathers have already been ruffled, though.

good post that just points on the sillyness of quantum theory when applied to practical situations :)
I agree that this provided more insight than the article itself did, about quantum theory.
This is true... so i suppose my mild argument was moot. Key word in "Ebola Virus" is VIRUS. :)

This is true, but a tiered internet would result in a tiered world wide web IMHO.
