    That is /not/ a valid worry.

    The plant is next to a river, which empties into the ocean.

    Part of the nature of rivers, is that they transport fresh water easily.

    Depleting a supply of fresh water, when you are on a RIVER next to the OCEAN is not only not a valid worry, it is a stupid worry that verges on the same sort of knee-jerk hysteria that lead the pumping millions of tons of radioactive material into the atmosphere because of coal burning, instead of using nuclear plants.

    It's ridiculous, short-sighted, and causes more harm than good.

    Yeah, um... I guess you don't know this, but the whole point of the experiment is to /get/ collisions. It's kinda how basic particle research like this is done.

    The wikipedia article is a good start, but there's more info there, and there's always Google if you want to educate yourself further. :)

    Addiction causes often physical changes to the structure and chemistry of the brain.

    eBay is just as exclusive - you can't use eBay without signing up either, and they also verify your identity. eBay also personally contacts their members to ensure they know who's interacting on the eBay site - they sure emailed me when I signed up!

    The only difference here is fancier words.

    Yeah, 'blame Canada' - to put it in context, most Canadians west of Ontario, view Ontario in the same way most Americans view France - that is, hopelessly and utterly broken. So stuff like this isn't a surprise - I don't mean to troll, but those easterners are about as blissfully statist as you can get and still be called a democracy.

    Oh, and for those Ontarians in the audience? Yeah, 'Central Canada' would be Saskatchewan. Anything east of that is 'Eastern'. :)
