Mod me troll if you like, but I'll get an ATi card when thay provide decent drivers for Linux (I even had to change my Radeon 9200 for a Geforce4 440mx to be able to fully use 3D in Linux). Most distros (Ubuntu, Suse etc) have Nvidia drivers in one form or another; ATi was a pain in the ass for me. Oh, and anyone who publishes a driver that has a 33Mb installer and needs a 24 Mb.NET Framework installer (if the user hasn't got.NET installed) should be shot straight in the head without trial or investigation. C'mon, it's a freaking driver with a control center, not a graphics app with samples, brushes, textures etc. Only Samsung is worse, providing a monitor control panel app consuming something like 110 to 180 megabytes. No, it isn't complex and is much simpler than both NVidia and Ati control panels. However, ATI have excellent cards priced very reasonably: I got a Radeon 9200 and it cost me 3$ cheaper than a Geforce4 MX440 (I bought them on the same day), and yet it seems to run games like Doom3 and Half-life2 about twice faster than the Geforce on the same PC. It also supports more stuff than GF like water bump maps in HL2 etc.
I don't know about America, but in Russia the cops can stop your car and charge you a (relatively small) fine if you aren't wearing a seatbelt. You also must have a medkit and a fire extinguisher in you car in order to be able to use the road. People who don't have these are also fined.
There are not 666Mhz systems. Both Intel and AMD are afraid of Satan as everyone else. They make only 667Mhz (or 665Mhz) chips. So, this computer doesn't exist yet and cannot be used for password-cracking.
It (SUSE 10.0) has the theme but I can easily distinguish Gnome from KDE. It behaves differently (shortcuts, copy-paste, drag-drop, keyboard layouts etc) and it looks differently. Even the mouse cursor changes when it moves from a KDE app to QT and this drives me mad.
I've NEVER seen anyone code in VB. Most people I know started with Pascal, then switched to C/C++/Java/C# etc. BTW, this is a great idea for a Slashdot poll:
Would you like VB6 in Linux? a) Yes, it's the best language on the market b) Yes, it would allow me to use my VB6/win apps in Linux c) Yes, VB is the future d) Yes, if only CowboyNeal will be coding in it (tied up firmly to a fucking chair)
Mod parent up Insightful. If someone wants a complete solution, they should be looking at BSD (Free, Open etc, including OSX because it is somewhat based on FreeBSD). Or maybe Solaris.
I switch my mobile phone provider twice a year (actually, I am constantly switching between TWO companies for nearly five years). I switch Linux distros every three months. And I switch my playlist every four days.
Have you tried any of the recent (released 1-2 years ago) distros like Ubuntu, Mandriva, Suse etc? You choose the partition, set the timezone, press "Install" and wait 20 minutes. Reboot, and you have a complete desktop solution with imaging, development, office, internet etc. Personally, the only hardware I had to setup was my Palm Zire 71. Everything else just works (tm). No driver installations, no hardware configurations etc. The biggest problem is games: bad graphic card drivers (proprietary and difficult to install or free & bundled but slow in 3D) and stuff like crappy game installers or no Linux version at all (still, WINE often helps). But if you want serious gaming, buy an Xbox 360 or PS3 for $300 and get a complete and consistent solution worth $600-$1000.
And guess what the Microsoft(R) AdWord(R) for that search is?

Around a year ago they promised a QT version of Firefox, and it was in beta. Now all progress on it has been stopped for around half a year. If only they had a QT version of Firefox, I'd get rid of Konqueror this instant. It doesn't seem too difficult to port it to QT because not just plugins but also Firefox's core is built upon XUL. Port XUL to QT and I think that's all you need. And it's not an ideological issue(Trolltech makes $$$ etc.) either because the Windows version of Fx relies on Microsoft's widget set. And Gnome apps look bad in KDE and don't connect well with other kde apps. For some app I launch twice a week that's ok, but for a browser that's unacceptable. It's probably the most often-launched app on loads of PCs.
My favorite example is Java's mascot, Duke. The Java cup has changed once or twice, but Duke stays. On the other hand, FreeBSD's new logo looks more like a mascot than a logo to me... It also looks like Beastie's head without a face. IMHO only the b&w versions of the logo should remain.
Google isn't much better - you can't send ANY.exe files from or to Gmail. They also don't allow.exe in.zips (Rar files seem to go unnoticed), but you could rename any.zip or.exe file to.zip_renamed etc. (don't know if it works now). I'm a software developer and this just drives me crazy because I can't send my own programs even to myself.

A comedy from a Linux/OSX user's point of view. I imagine a Windows user's face when he is told that the patch needed patching. He'll either BSOD or kernelpanic.

About 10 years ago it was about $2-$5. Don't know the current "price", but it should be lower than $15.

I want to buy some! Can it be bought online or do you need to visit your local dealer? And is there a money-back guarantee?
