I remember that former military guy they dragged onto the cameras when Soldier Of Fortune first arrived....blathering on about "murder simulators" and teaching kids that headshots are good (although with the current shortage of trained snipers available for deployment in Iraq...keep on playing kids). Of course every time some whacked-out kid shoots up a school this particular bandwagon gets jumped on en-masse. Hmmmm...why not moan about something useful...like...say...teen idol Britney Spears fronting trailer trash pregnancy....or....hmmmm....those various senior level government officials with documented claims of false military service...or....how the media distorts everything in order to sell advertising-regardless of effect.... I would suggest...with respect...that you put down the book you read (Archie & Jughead?) and re-evaluate your position. Competent software? Value to the country? You have to be kidding. A monkey can code given the right training...and try explaining the value of java-enabled porn to every troop who has served since the days of the Continental Army...value indeed.

"Insightful" my ass. And ditto and shame on the rest of you for making assumptions about which you know absolutely NOTHING. Unless you are a veterna or currently serving. The days of assuming even a grunt (11B type) are long gone. In order to survive on the battlefield it has long been established that a certain level of basic intelligence that translates into street smarts, tactical awareness, technical ability, and good decision-making abilities makes a good basic soldier (or airman/seaman/Marine). Those of you sitting in your ivory air-conditioned IT chambers of solitude looking down your noses at service in the military ain't shit compared to those that have served, are currently serving, and future volunteers. And by the way....I don't think you will ever see the current level of professionalism displayed by the US military in very trying circumstances diluted by the creation of a new draft.

The possibilities are boundless. There must be thousands of applications in medicine alone. All those wrecked ligaments, old fractures, and muscular scar tissue currently residing in various parts of my body...fixed and powered. No more power problems for artificial organs. Also the headaches associated with controlling and providing power to certain types of optical material/devices would be instantly sorted out. Hopefully the more invasive models designed for bio-remidiation tasks are set up with an off switch!
