Personally I HATE it when people channel surf during the commercials... I always end up missing the first 30 seconds of the show after each commercial break
Now imagine trying to do that as a 2 year old... and some kids DVDs have over 10 minutes of crap you have to watch EVERY time you wanna watch the movie, and most kids have an attention span of less than 10 mins. It does not take a genius to know that this is a problem.
I am all for online services, but I they need to have a offline component... I don;t wanna be locked out of word because my Internet connection is down
The only thing I care about, is will it play on my devices... AAC and WMA are all good formats, and they sound better for a given bit rate, but until one of them is supported by everything Ill stick to good old MP3
"MP3 for its wide compatibility can now choose from preferable open-source alternatives such as Ogg Vorbis."
There is no comparison... MP3 plays on anything (almost) right out of the box with no configuration, yet OGG only plays on a few devices, or software players.
I know that you can get OGG to work in many players (both hardware and software), but MP3 just does.
The reason is that vineyards are popping up all over the place, especially where the antelope brush grows.
Apparently antelope brush and grape vines require the same soil conditions; the problem is that most of the antelope brush is gone, and it has become one of the most endangered ecosystem (yes it is its own ecosystem) in Canada, yet the vineyards keep popping up further reducing the amount pf antelope brush.
This is the main concern I have, but there are other environmental issues as well.
"the thing is, who knows how long it'll be before TV and movie torrents get completely shut down?"
TV and movie torrents will get shut down two weeks after they RIAA is able to stop music downloads... so in other words it will never be shut down.

I used to be able to do this for free with outlook.
when they stooped doping that I stooped using hotmail. I use gmail now, and I don't think will be going back.
Too little; too late.

don't get me started on the Okanagan wine industry...
lets just say I don't buy any wine that comes from the Okanagan anymore (and I live in BC).
sometimes it pays to be a jerk
but don't expect prices to drop because of it
2.5 inches just aint enough for me
the problem is that some young people visit /. Therefore reducing their chance to get laid to almost nill
oh but I still pay for cable, so really what I am doing is the (essentially) equivalent of recording the shows I want to watch.
Mainly i am just not home to watch the shows I want to watch, and I don't have a PVR or VCR (that works well enough) so I download.
If local stations (or someone else) would provide legal downloads (with some form of adds) I would likely download from them.
My schedule and the stations schedules are simply out of sync.

mooooooooooooo!!!
or it is a national security issue because it is a great way to get information to people in times of emergencies.
and if u must watch a show, remember that bit torrent is your friend
what ever happened to channel 1?
Of course you do.
As proof I will present the vast majority of our moms (no mom jokes pls)
Just think of the extra incentive to learn to use expensive software
"Hey I just spent tons of money of this crap... I really better learn how to use it, or it will be a waste of money"
one way to get around this is to re-install everything from an image when a guest checks out.
I would assume that this could be done semi-automaticly with IT staff only needed when something goes wrong
Great now we have one more thing to throw in the trash.
what a waste
Welcome to the USPO, where common sense has gone the way of the dodo
thats because you are a freak, any normal kid would steal a car, get a gun and shoot people. And that is why this law is needed.
