I think what their CEO is trying to say is that they aim to be legitimate, and will actually... you know, respond to DMCA requests, unlike MegaUpload who had sort of a "wink, nod" approach to pirated materials.
The summary itself even says that he didn't know porn sites were using his software, why would somebody know or even suspect they would be arrested for such a thing?
The pirate party isn't satisfied with copyright laws? In other news, right-wing leaders claim the government is spending too much money and left-wing leaders claim that not enough is being done to help the poor.
...is food, water, and sleep. Is it useful to have a smartphone? Yes, and bothering other people about theirs is a pretty obvious way for you to cope with feeling left behind for not having one.
Far better Quake sourceports have popped up that have taken a lot less time than this. Darkplaces and ezQuake seem to still be in development and look fantastic.
They still exist, but they're not very prominent. I use an HTC Evo Shift 4G, basically a smaller version of the Evo with a slide-out keyboard, and I far prefer it to any of the touchscreen-only devices I've played around with.
He probably should have waited until after W8 was released, now they have a chance to patch out all his hard work before anyone gets a chance to make use of it.
Every time a carrier gets the iPhone they have to make big changes to their data rates and pricing just to accommodate all the extra strain on their network. Maybe if it had worked out, we all wouldn't be subsidizing iPhone users and would have cheaper phone plans and higher bandwidth caps.
Because you're carrying it around in your pocket and using it wherever you are? Are you really unimpressed with this miracle of technology that may someday soon see us replacing dedicated devices with smaller, more portable ones?
I'm pretty sure this guy isn't either. If your computer isn't cutting it anymore, stop getting mad at the internet, stop being a cheap asshole, and buy a new one.
Considering the fact that you generally want faster internet speeds in order to download things in less time, I'm pretty sure a system that takes as much time as an auction would be of any benefit.
I don't know about Linux or OSX, but Windows has had a pretty nice speech recognition function (aptly titled Windows Speech Recognition) built into it since Vista. I don't use it much anymore now that I have a bunch of remote programs for Android, but it was useful for controlling my computer from across the room (or slouched down in my chair like a troglodyte). It can be used to type, open programs, select links, highlight the browser's address bar, and even click on a particular area of the screen using a fairly useful "mousegrid" system.
It works a lot better than that ill-fated live demonstration that was making the rounds a few years back, too.
There's a pretty big audience gap between a show about some geeks doing stuff nobody cares about and famous people (admittedly still doing stuff nobody cares about).
So... because a type of game with a small portion of the market engages in some sleazy business practices, an entire multi-billion dollar industry is dead? What a shitty article.

People with HTPCs, people with large monitors, gamers who use gamepads, people giving or viewing presentations, etc.

Look on Ebay for a Newton, sounds right up your alley!

Ever heard of a little group called Daft Punk? They're only platinum sellers, so I can see how you might have missed them.
(See also Phoenix, David Guetta, Alcest, etc.)

Haha, I was thinking of the one where Homer invests in Animotion myself.

Mentioning the t-shirt first and then casually throwing in that you host a mirror of the site is kind of an odd set of priorities.
My theory? The fact that it's an assault on the poor is the precise reason so many legislators love it.
Eliminate the bankers instead.
Child abuse is mutually exclusive from "parenting".

That's true, I wish they'd publish an API to allow integration with calendar apps, etc.
