My post wasn't intended to be "flame-bait". What I was trying to determine if Haffner actually had an iPhone or if he was just trolling. I have an iPhone 4. I recently upgraded from a 3G model. My experience has been quite different. Where as my old phone would succumb to "dead-spots" through out my office, the new iPhone does not. It works and it works a hell of a lot better than before.

I'm not saying people are having problems, I'm sure there are. But in my case, I'm not. You can take that with a grain of salt, but whatever. Whenever I read about all these people having all these "major" problems, I'm kind of suspicious.

Glad you brought this up. I think this has been the main problem in government for the past 20-30 years. We actually have a gazillion saftey rules for various industries, but the weakest link has always been enforcing and making sure these rules are followed. Our government needs to start bitch slapping this guys who are supposed to be checking up on these industries and make sure they also are punished if disasters like this happen. I nice 5-20 year federal jail sentence for major disaster under their watch might make them think twice before taking that nice trip to the Bahamas or snorting that line off a hooker.

Apple telling these developers you can only use our ad service is just blatant abuse at this point.

Are you a shill? Seriously, Apple IS NOT telling developers use our service or else.

Apple IS trying to control the flow of their customers personal data. They are preventing analytics... as a user I appreciate this. Apparently you don't give a rats ass about your browsing, data using, phone call history, geo location and whatever the f*ck else these guys (Google) are collecting.

    Here's the rules

3.3.9 You and Your Applications may not collect, use, or disclose to any third party, user or device data without prior user consent, and then only under the following conditions:

    - The collection, use or disclosure is necessary in order to provide a service or function that is directly relevant to the use of the Application. For example, without Apple’s prior written consent, You may not use third party analytics software in Your Application to collect and send device data to a third party for aggregation, processing, or analysis.

    - The collection, use or disclosure is for the purpose of serving advertising to Your Application; is provided to an independent advertising service provider whose primary business is serving mobile ads (for example, an advertising service provider owned by or affiliated with a developer or distributor of mobile devices, mobile operating systems or development environments other than Apple would not qualify as independent); and the disclosure is limited to UDID, user location data, and other data specifically designated by Apple as available for advertising purposes.

Sounds to me like Apple is taking back control of how developers and third parties access and use sensitive user data on their iOS platform, that's it. Looks like you can still use an INDEPENDENT advertising company.

Apathy is a huge problem as well, but let's not forget that the government (both democrats and republicans) have done quite a few things to ensure that their two parties are going to get elected.

Guess who controls the debates? Debates are a complete joke, it's basically a scripted reality show now. If you're an independent running for office, you have a snowball's chance to get in front of these guys to talk about issues.

And let's not forget about big media! It used to be that you could only control 30% of any market if you were a media outlet. I think it was Bush junior that did away with that pesky rule. This is one thing that actually scares the hell out of me. No single company should have that much control over what a population can see, hear and read.

So yeah, apathy is a huge problem, but when your choices are this ass hat party or that ass hat party, then I'm sure people are just throwing their arms in the air. I'm sure they would love to vote for change, but when your options are so limited, what's the point? I mentioned this on another post not to long ago, but what's really needed is a source (internet) where people can start checking out other options...
