    Possibly. So far "The Doctor" had failed to come and save us from Microsoft. He always turns up when killer robots push grandmothers down stairs.

    If an ecommerce site can lock someone's account, give full access to the authorities, or change a password (all of which can be done with hashed passwords) why would they want to know someone's actual password? This will need rewriting of most systems and OSs for no gain whatsoever.

    The US would have to pick an enemy who can afford robots in the first place. Bombing backward civilisations is so much more fun, though.

    Of course the problem with this type of asymetric warfare is that terrorism is the only way they can fight back. They cannot realistically fight drones with AK47s. The choice is either give in or use terrorism to convince the other country not to send them.

    A really free market wouldn't have patents or copyright.

Of course this was an older study before so many wonderful and expensive (But life saving just ask my mother, who had and is now lung cancer free. She stopped smoking about fifteen years before getting the cancer.) Drugs and therapies. So I don't think it is any longer more economically viable since curing the cancer wasn't cheap but on the other hand my mom's retirement won't be cheap for your company or social society.(Not saying she doesn't deserve it.)

    Hmm, is this the same Philip Morris that hid the dangers of smoking for decades and covered up the additional fire risk of a new 'safer' cigarette. Forgive me if I take it with a pinch of salt.

    BMI is only accurate for the general population (young to middle aged adults). It isn't meant to be necessarily accurate for an individual.

    Waist to Hip ratio is a better measure.

    It is WAY to early to make this kind of a judgement. There is absolutely no reason why Android couldn't take over tablets as well as smartphones. Judging by the success or failure of a first gen product like the Xoom is definitely not an adequate representation.

    Agreed, and the £500 Motorola zoom is not going to prove one way or other whether anyone will buy a £600 iPad 2 ot £400 iPad. Wait until something decent hits the £200 mark

    I'm a consultant in telecom. I see this every day. I'm convinced that any project, no matter how big can be done by 6 people.

    There are probably a few exception, but add two or three good testers (who should not be the implementers) and I think that would cover 99% of projects

    Obvious nonsense. It's never dry enough to light anything with a flint in Wales. Besides which if a welshman invented fire it would be much more likely to involve friction and wool than flint and pine needles.

    Yes they did say it. I am not sure if they are "still playing catchup" though - with Bing powering Yahoo, hotmail, etc. they are probably at the level a large inflexible company would be if they had gone in at the beginning.
