It also depends on the platform. While I use Chrome*, it definitely uses more CPU than Firefox, which leads to faster battery drain. It's especially problematic on eBay, for some reason. When the next version of OS X comes out, I'll probably switch back to Safari for the power savings alone.

*I use Chrome for the tab/bookmark sync with my iPhone, as there's no iOS version of Firefox. I don't use Safari because I also have a Windows box and want sync there, too.

I don't think people should drink 64oz sodas, but I also don't think it's any of my damn business, and I have no right to dictate what people drink. I say this as a teetotaler who also hasn't had soda or caffeine in almost 10 years.

Releasing such a document only serves to reinforce the idea that the NSA has been breaking codes for a long, long time before PRISM ever existed, and that is an uncomfortable thought, given the recent debacle.

If, on the other hand, the headline said something along the lines of "NSA declassifies secret SPCA donation efforts," then it would feel a whole lot more like a distraction.

It doesn't play nicely with some custom Windows color schemes; my black window chrome makes the New Tab button invisible and blends in with inactive tabs too much. It also seems like they've hidden or removed certain settings, which is rather obnoxious (I can't figure out how to get rid of the Google search on the Speed Dial. I can see it being frustrating helping a patient who wouldn't be there if they'd just done a better job taking care of themselves.

Furthermore, it's my understanding that providing care to a skinny person is easier than giving it to an obese person for a number of reasons. Combine that with the fact that we're essentially programmed to prefer skinny people, and it's obvious that there would be a bias.

Does that mean that I think obese people should receive subpar treatment? Hell no. You signed up for the job, now go and do it. I just get tired of studies that confirm something everyone already knows.

The Gamecube was actually more powerful than the PS2, the market leader. And it had some damn good games and a good controller, too.

The problem that Nintendo has is that publishers like to target the largest audience, and Nintendo's use of non-standard controls make it hard to justify making a game exclusively for the Wii (U) when it won't get as many sales as making it for Sony and Microsoft. What you wind up with is games with tacked-on motion (or tablet) controls. It's a different story in the handheld front, though; with Nintendo being so dominant there, developers are more likely to experiment with the dual screens and touchscreen. (Then they forget that 10% of the population is left-handed and don't make sure their games actually work for lefties.)

Every once in a while, I go and evaluate all of the major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari, IE). I just finished a several-month evaluation of Firefox. While it is very good, you're right--it's just not as good as Chrome. The Mac version has a number of integration problems (doesn't use system scrollbars or rubberbanding, for example), Mac and Windows both have sync issues (constantly telling me it can't sync; also a draconic requirement to enable sync on various devices), and the lack of the omnibar all make it just less fun to use than Chrome.

Firefox OS is neat and all, but does anyone expect it to do, well, anything? I might expect such a phone for free, if they also gave me a free data plan and let me continue using my current phone. They need to focus on their browser or they'll cede more ground to Google.
