    HP builds and sells boxes to MS specs which will actually run Vista. MS cuts specs and everyone else sells el cheapo shitboxes which don't run Vista very well, but by the time anyone finds out, it's too late.

    I've got a Compaq Presario with Intel 945 and Vista kind of sucks on that. I pity the fool trying to run it on anything less.

    This discussion doesn't need any more than the above comment. Is it vigilante justice when someone phones the cops after you run a red light and knock down a grandmother? It's not like the security researchers are smashing up the servers in the colo - they're just informing the providers of a breach of their AUP and asking for the consequences set out in that AUP.

    *snicker*. I was staying in LA and got told flat out it was "too far to walk" to get to Sunset Strip. Turned out to be 40 minutes at a leisurely pace, which I do on a regular basis. I've walked 9 miles just to get to a fucking pub before now.

    btw, I can blow through 7-800 calories in an hour on the bike and that would take me a lot longer if I just walked places.
