I live in a decently rural town. Most people here work in nearby towns (TOWNS, NOT CITIES) that are much larger than the area I live in.

Even those (bigger) towns don't have public transit systems.... And even for those of us who work HERE, we sure as hell can't walk to work. The center of town is about 4-5 miles from here, and there are no sidewalks or anything of that sort. It would mean walking up (and down) hills on the side of the highway the whole way there.

Nothing bad about it, it's just that sometimes it causes a few problems.

I do tech support at a school. The moment that something goes offline (like our mail server), we start getting calls telling us that things are messed up.

Before anyone asks: Yes, we try our best to only reboot after-hours, and yes, we tell everyone when a service will be down.

I was actually a little angry over the second Transformers film.

I'm normally pretty liberal and all, but WHY was a movie that was marketed so heavily towards children (tons of toys, promotional burger king kids meals, etc.) filled with so much sex and profanity?

They have a policy that says that if you're a new customer, you get a discount...

They also have a policy that allows you to upgrade your phone at a discounted price after a certain amount of time.

If I'm not mistaken, they've done this for a while, now... and so does Verizon. How does the iPhone have anything to do over this? Sounds to me like someone is just mad that they'll have to wait for their upgrade.

Not saying that longtime customers shouldn't get a discount or anything... just that this shouldn't surprise anyone.

Any Gamestop I've ever been to almost FORCES the used copy down your throat. I went in to buy a copy of a game for my father's birthday, and the tool at the register kept asking me to buy a used copy instead.

Even after explaining to him that I thought it was stupid to buy a used game for a gift, he still kept trying to sale me the used copy. I ended up leaving, because it seemed as if he was not going to sale me the new copy (that I had in my hands), and I wasn't going to cause a scene in front of a bunch of children.

I've spoken to friends that live in other places, and they have had similiar experiences.

It's not going to happen. From what I've read (and I've read, and worked with, a lot), the DVD player in the Wii is not suited for the continuous reads that a movie would demand-- it does short burst reads. Playing movies on it will, over time, ruin the device.
