The only one I'd like to respond to though - the Security Center. I'd rather NOT have Symantec getting their fingers into the Security Center. Yes, it opens them up for more anti-trust issues... but I'd prefer them to hold their ground.
When I reformatted my parent's/family computer, I installed the latest Symantec package (antivirus + firewall) just for that 'extra layer' of security (even though anybody with two bits of knowledge in the subject can bypass it). All users on this comp were given User level access, no administrators. Whenever I come by to visit, I log in and add programs and what not as needed.
Fast forward a few months later (and its been happening for a while now), the Client Firewall -refuses- to load. Completely. The antivirus appears to functioning without issue though, and I have no reason to believe any spyware or virus is lurking around on the system.
This isn't the kind of crap I would like to see in a 'Security Center'.
Flip3d can also be accessed from the Windows key + tab (assuming your keyboard has a windows key), then flip through them with your keyboard or mouse.
Not that it changes much, but still:P
'Don't worry, you can use that feature to flip through buttons. What happened to rotating windows with side title bars? Hell, don't ask me. I dunno.'
I'm not sure what you mean by that... you should see the windows as they are at an angle. If you only see a prettified version of what is in XP you aren't running in full Aero mode.
Get real, Microsoft OneNote has had this since its inception. A 'collaborate/update once in a while (depending on settings)' feature has been in Word/Excel etc. for a while
a) To say that Vista has no changes except a nice little GUI is EXTREMELY ignorant
b) Try actually using it. You'll find there are a crapload of changes, some good, some bad. If you are an administrator deploying Vista (someday) onto a corporate network, you will be pleasantly surprised.
c) No browser is fully 'W3C compliant'
d) Do tell - what 'giant loopholes' are there in Vista? Have you already coded several rootkits to account for these? Oh you're talking about the Symantec article about the new networking stack where they quietly mention that MS has been fixing the things they have warned about with every public release. Oh ok.
e) WinFS is(was) just a journaling layer on top of NTFS. NTFS was ALWAYS meant to be there.
f) 'Time Machine' is already in Vista, people have already started talking about security and privacy implications of the versioning system which is in Vista.
The funny thing about the Apple dev conference earlier today... You can tell what is, and isn't in XP/2k3/Vista/Office already.... everything that wasn't somewhat in XP or Vista or Office they are like START COPYING REDMOND. Everything that they were just doing their own take on, they just quietly mention their features and move on. The more you know.
Right, why don't they bring a bunch of new MBA students in to replace them. The fresh new non-tech oriented ideas will surely revitalize the company./sarcasm meter explodes
As opposed to the rest of the posts 'OMGLOL WMP LEAKS!!1', this post actually discusses it. I've used it. Its available to download from softpedia.com
I found it to be rather nice and would definitely prefer it over iTunes if I still used it (iTunes). URGE is no iTunes music store but I never used that in any case. It has a slick look, uses less mem than iTunes - more than Winamp or foobar of course, and the responsiveness is quite good. I've never really liked Windows Media Player, always thought it was clunky and bloated but this seems to be a release where they got it right. I highly recommend checking it out.
As stated in another comment, there is a new file format. Basically add an x to the end of your typical format. So, docx, xlsx, pptx, etc.
HOWEVER
There is a feature in all of the O12 apps that I have tried that are along the lines of 'Save in Office 97-2003 format'.
For everything I have tried, it works fine.
It used to be the case in Opera 8.51 that going to Tools --> Options --> Check 'Show Close Button on Each tab' to turn off the MDI interface would enable N-1 funtionality. However, this does not seem to work in Op9TP2, I suspect its buried somewhere in opera:config.
For your information, you can simply use the + - keys on the numpad (or on the main keyboard section) and it will scale text. Also, next to the zoom dropdown (where you can select the zoom with your mouse), there is a button called fit to window width - give it a shot.
Good points all around.

Just for clarification, the Core Duo chips are 32 bit, all Core2s are 64bit.
I completely agree

Opera 9 is in beta. labs.opera.com or snapshot.opera.com for more info.
Is this just web based MS OneNote? I fail to see the value.

Its a new feature in Opera9, similar to about:config in firefox. Sorry for the confusion if you aren't using Opera9.
