I also agree with the parent poster. This update made facebook easier to use. I think the people that dont like the changes fall into two camps:
1. People who were living in a state of ignorance/denial about the information about them that is availible online. It is much harder to ignore information that is displayed in a nice clear, concise list.
2. People who spend all their time "facebooking" and will now have to find another activity, as their "facebooking" time will be much more efficient, and therefore much shorter.
Anyone else needs to reevaluate their decision to use sites like MySpace and Facebook, after all security through obscurity is never the best option.
Wow, they use quantum mechanics? Every chemical reaction in our universe uses quantum mechanics; they couldn't be more vague if they tried. They're clearly trying to capitalize on the 'quantum computer' buzz.
While every chemical reaction in the universe uses quantum mechanics, every computer does not. The use of quantum mechanics in computing is actually as revolutionary as they make it seem. If d-wave succeeds in building a quantum computer, it will destroy the laws of computability. Because of superposition, it will be able to factorize large numbers with linear scaling, meaning that even a slow quantum computer could factorize the product of two 300 digit prime numbers in less time than a supercomputer.
I wouldn't trust your bank statement either. How do you know that your mailman didnt change the url on your statement? The only safe way to get your bank's url is to drive to your nearest bank and ask the manager.
All it would take to crack HDCP is a single person at one of these companies to obtain 40 keys and then run the crack himself. He would then be able to produce 50 new, untraceable keys that could be released publicly.
While those may seem close to what the author found, with a sample size as large as 52,886, it is actually extremely unlikely for the test results to be.015 off.
In fact, a simple 1-Proportion-Z-Test comparing your 5 star proportion to the 5 star proportion actually seen results in a probability of 6.01*10^-14. Meaning that the probability they actually used your algorithm is approxaimetly equal to the probability of flipping 43 coins and every flip resulting in heads.
Its not a perfect system, but its not like the computer has a sticker saying "Protected by Computrace Software". I bet the vast majority of thieves wouldnt even think about wiping the hard drive or setting up a firewall.

Firefox may show the helper by default, but with a simple greasemonkey run on earthlink-help.net it wouldnt be that hard to bypass.
document.location = 'about:blank';

If you convert that message back to ASCII, you will find that it is ontopic and actually quite funny.

I get to be disappointed by at least 10 tracks for 10 bucks.
Where have you been buying your music??
Well, in their defense, Hackaday stole two of slashdot's links yesterday, so they cant be doing too bad.
Does anyone else think that 12inches is overkill to see the number youre dialing?
i have a cold AND im single, you insensitive clod!
