- No Windows support -> 70%? 85%? (depends on "ETA" of BRs) of the market not supporting BR. - No Linux support -> 5%? 15%? (depends...) not supporting DRM/BR - Only Mac OS to make "backups" of movies and PS3 games
So only Mac users can make backups... if there was no DRM in Mac OS. But it is. Maybe I'm mistaken but this means no (starting) piracy of PS3 games. Do you really think PS3 will sell without piracy? And no PS3 sales mean no/not enough BR rented/sold.
Maybe time will prove me wrong but if there's no piracy there's no BR.
I think you forget something: Microsoft can say "we don't support BluRay reading/writing out of the box in Vista. We only support HD-DVD and older". Add to this the NO support in Linux (Sony making a Linux driver? Yes. And politicians tell the truth). And when you have to buy all BR and can't use it for anything but looking movies and playing on a PS3 it lowers the number of BR sold.
The same happened to DVD. At least in Europe it was too popular until DVD-R was available. And this wasn't too long ago.
IIS servers are not being attacked??? And those poor admins thinking they are under constant attack...:P
If your point is right, why were viruses for Amigas and STs? Did they had the biggest market share and I (and everybody else but virus makers) didn't know?
Then something like process A telling the kernel to pass some memory block to process B and the kernel deciding what is better/faster, copying the block or changing the owner, should be better, isn't it?
How bad/good would be if a process could "give" some space to other process? Let's say process A wants to share some data with process B. Process A sends a message to process B ("do you accept my data?"), process B answers ("yes"/"no"/["wait"]). If the answer is yes process A tells the kernel to give the data "ownage" to process B. The kernel changes the owner. Process A stores who gave its data. When process A wants its data back sents another message to process B ("can you give me back my data?").
Then if someone wants to sell this kind of keyboard has to bundle it with a game that teaches typing. Something like a RTS would be nice. This or a Mario Bros clone:)
Mortal Kombat? Killer Instinct? King of Fighters? Tekken? Are you telling me this games are easy to fully learn? If you want to learn the moves you have to play a lot. You can't do the moves the first time. If someone want's to learn something s/he will learn it. And using a chorded keyboard is the same.
I think they should test it in Antartica, not in North Dakota. Mars is NOT a hot desert but a cold one (mean surface temperature: 210 Kelvin). And I remember some images of a place in Antartica that were just like Mars except for the atmosphere.
I'm not saying "you have 5 bullets that have to be used in 5 places". It's more "you have 10 bullets and they'll have 5 places you can use them for better results".
I don't think using the RPG method of "item A in place B" is the best way to enhance gameplay. It's better when you can deal with a problem in different ways and the way you choose does matter for the rest of the game, so if you have a door and you choose to destroy it maybe something won't (or will) happen, but if you pick the correct key and open the door something else happens (or not). But maybe you want to put a trap on it. Or you want...
If the gamemaker lets you destroy anything with a REALLY BIG rocket launcher then there can be a shortage of ammo. And I mean having less than 10 rockets for the whole game. And needing half of them to fight bosses or demolish some specific building.
The point is "to unlock" the documents. When the documents are unlocked MSO doesn't have any more advantage than its quality and has to "fight" in a leveled field.
RTF might be a "common format" for MSO and OO.o, but it lacks some things.doc and.odt have. And remember it's not only about text. There are spreadsheets, presentations,... And those can't be converted to RTF.
How long can it last? 10 minutes? 45 as the LOTR battles? I think the better way to use HW for anything that's not a videogame is doing a long TV series, giving time to show those "wonderfull megabattles". But not an endless one. One season for HW and one for HW:C. I think HW2 doesn't needs to be done; it's not different enough from HW.
And about endless series, I hope BSG won't become one. It must end, sooner or later, but making it endless [almost always] drains quality in the scripts. IMHO is better to make some spin off than doing this.
A render farm that works with graphics can't use the power of the GPUs, isn't it what you say? So, a graphic's render farm must use generalistic CPUs to do the work.
I know what he meant. But let me say something:
- No Windows support -> 70%? 85%? (depends on "ETA" of BRs) of the market not supporting BR.

It's so cute when linux users think they have buying power
Linux user != not a buyer/renter.
MS's lack of support won't stop much
Just one word: piracy.

Then think about what will happen in Europe were they will turn $1 into 1€ (600€ = $768).
So they turned "Star Wars Galaxies" into "Kingdom Come" (DC)?

First of all: I'm not a programmer.
Can this work?
And if it wasn't propietary?
Then if someone wants to sell this kind of keyboard has to bundle it with a game that teaches typing. Something like a RTS would be nice. This or a Mario Bros clone :)
Then, why not "load" a refrigerator chamber with rocks and dust, cold it to -65C and turn up the fans?

odf = odt + ods + odp + odg + odm + ott + ots + otp + otg (anyone more?)
You can:
A) "upgrade" and lose/have to convert all your documents or
B) stay with the program AND the documents you are using.
If ODF becomes THE standard I think MS wont dare to screw ODF support and suicide.
The point is "to unlock" the documents. When the documents are unlocked MSO doesn't have any more advantage than its quality and has to "fight" in a leveled field.

Not like XBox that means... well... a box... with an X... eeehhh...

There are more movies called "Dead or alive".
Wasn't this Galactica? :)
Homeworld could be a nice trilogy or a serie, but only a movie... remember Wing Commander.
The problem with Homeworld is that everything is space combat and there's nothing more (in the game). And that doesn't work in a good/average movie.
Homeworld: Cataclism could be a better game to choose (IMHO).

Do you hammer the nails with a screwdriver?
Why not use different ballots for different parties? Do you have hundreds of parties to vote for?
