According to Broussard, "there's a lot that's finished. All the guns are finished. Most of the creatures are finished...we're just basically pulling it all together and trying to make it fun."
Am I the only one for whom this seems backwards, or is this typical for modern game development?
Mod me lamer, but isn't making a game fun a quite big development step, and high up in the priorities list?
Well, one of the (theoretical) effects of global warming is making the weather more extreme. One of the (also theoretical) dangers with global warming is that the Gulf stream will change direction. If that happens, Northern Europe will become MUCH colder.
But then it becomes a question of intent. If you successfully claim to unwittingly letting someone make copies, you are usually in the clear. In most cases, being stupid isn't a crime.
When you make a purchase of music, you get a receipt. The receipt makes your copy legal. If you don't have a receipt, you cannot prove it's legal, ergo if someone says your copy is illegal they are right by default.
If you then proceed to sell your music device, with copies of music, you will also have to submit the receipts for that music, proving that those copies are all legal. If you still own copies of said music, those copies are now illegal.
If you don't submit receipts with those copies on the device, then they are illegal copies and you have committed a crime.
The boss needs to a) validate his existence, b) throw his weight around, c) boost his ego by talking about his "visions", d) fill out his overpaid hours, e) all of the above. An easy way of doing this is having meetings.
Meetings are never within schedule, at least not with the kind of boss mentioned above. A one hour meeting can easily become one and a half hour long. And these types of meetings are usually held just before lunch or at the end of the work day.
As mentioned before, nothing productive will come out of these meetings. The boss will want an update on what is going on, but does not understand what you are doing and will subsequently misunderstand/ignore you.
The boss does not have to be a bad one for this to apply. This is all applicable to my current one. It is just that he likes to hold meetings.
Thought I'd mention the live action (sorta) stuff. Our beloved Jimmy is working on Battle Angel Alita. I heard a rumour about the guys at Weta wanting to remake Neon Genesis Evangelion, but can't find anything right now. And I hope Michael Bay doesn't ruin this one.
But that should be enough for in-between communication, shouldn't it? No, I wouldn't want to transfer the music from computer to player via Bluetooth, but for listening it should be enough.
I agree with everything you say and your post sums things up nicely, however I feel a Catch 22 coming on: This will not happen until oled keyboards are ubiquitious, and they will not become so without apps supporting them. It should be safe to assume it will happen, but not in many years.
Yep, everybody keeps forgetting that in order utilise all pixels in a good camera, you need a good lens. It seems to me, if you are using a zoom lens (any zoom lens, not just Sigma crap), anything above eight megapixels is pretty much useless.
I can't help thinking: What about the people working for SCO? (Assuming of course there are people working for SCO, and with people I mean other than lawyers/crooks/demons)
Somewhere in this company, someone must be doing real work. Someone who will get royally screwed when this ordeal is over.
Or did I misunderstand everything about this company?
However, the FAA has so far left any medical requirements in the hands of the tourist, who should decide themselves if they are fit to fly.
People have a habit of deluding themselves. I can tell you the probability of someone dying of cardiac arrest will be way higher than the probability of someone being a terrorist, if they won't do medical screening.
I've heard plenty of horror stories about people dying on "adventure trips" and even from bungy jumping.
Do they mean sex with aliens? Remember that Troi and Riker has that all the time. To quote Zapp Brannigan: "[...] I did make it with a hot alien babe. And in the end, is that not what man has dreamt of since first he looked up at the stars?" *pause* "Kif, I'm asking you a question!"
The first time I saw a DVD film in the stores was in 1997, but to my knowledge, the format didn't really catch on until at least three years later. I still see plenty of VHS cassettes in video rental stores, so there should be a demand for them.
Even though I agree with what you say, VHS is still around after eight years, which is a long time these days. So even in the unlikely event that The Next Big Thing actually out-triumphs the DVD, it will stick around for a while, but as you say people are most probably happy with what they've got now.

My question is: with ZoneAlarm, Avast, AVG et al just waiting to be downloaded, is there a reason to care anymore?

FYI: Mona Sahlin is notorious for talking a lot and doing very little.
I'll wait with the cheers until I see an agenda, signed by people who know what they are talking about.
This is quite simple:

Easy, isn't it?
Well, sometimes they're good both behind and in front of the cameras.
These are the main reasons, to my experience:
The boss does not have to be a bad one for this to apply. This is all applicable to my current one. It is just that he likes to hold meetings.

Then for the CGI fans there are Appleseed and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.
If this is well known stuff, please ignore this post.
You might want to have a look at "Gunslinger Girl". The drawing is a bit mediocre, but the story is good.
Mmm, Furry Porn.
No, wait... D'oh!
But that should be enough for in-between communication, shouldn't it? No, I wouldn't want to transfer the music from computer to player via Bluetooth, but for listening it should be enough.
Err, do you have any support for this? If they cram a 60 GB hard drive into a phone I'm pretty sure they will charge an extra buck for it.
You know, you might just get what you ask for.

Insert your own size related joke about here. (Yes I know the submitter means the apparent size viewed from Earth)

Yep, definitely had a Futurama feeling coming on.
Will Matt Groening be able to claim prior art?
If the "nose buds" are made to look like the ones used by the aliens in "Battlefield Earth", will that increase popularity?
Not really. According to TFA:
People have a habit of deluding themselves. I can tell you the probability of someone dying of cardiac arrest will be way higher than the probability of someone being a terrorist, if they won't do medical screening.

No, this is what an accountant or suchlike would say. An engineer would say the glass has a times one safety margin.

No, I'm a Swedish citizen. I admit though, that our government is alarmingly pro-US at times.
I appreciate your link list, but you're preaching for the already enlightened. Besides, we're discussing China right now.
