    No, it's not communism. Communism is a top down approach to control where a central authority dictates what everyone does. Communism isn't about happy people working together for a better tomorrow, despite what you might have been taught.

    What you're describing there is totalitarianism. Ideally communism is where no one is better than anyone and everyone gets the same thing.

    Actually, DNS was developed at the University of Southern California by Paul Mockapetris. The World Wide Web and http language was developed by europeans. So the transport and protocols are American inventions and by analogy should stay in American hands. However you get the argument of "Without us, your transport would be nothing.""Without us, you wouldn't have a network to transport on."

    Of course, that's what a monopoly does to you. During the 60's, you had the cold war, so it was a competition between the US and the Soviet Union to be the best. Since the cold war has ended, the US hasn't been producing anything technical along those lines.

    Many say that it would be much easier to block porn if every porn site would be moved over to the .xxx domain. And many are dumbfounded buy the administrations thwarting of the move. However, it could be possible that the Bush administration have succumbed to the Pornography industry as well? By not requiring them to use the .xxx tld, it makes it harder to block those sights alowing the industry to continue unscathed. The "Think of the Children" stance by the Administration is no more than a doublespeak facade like the Patriot Act and FECAL (Family Entertainment and Copyright Act Legislation).

    Way back when when Republicans where Republicans and Democrats were Democrats there was a cry for some by bipartisanship. Slowly the parties took on each other's ideals with now Republicans taking to big government and now the Democrats, with all this hoopla over a game, want to involve themselves in one's personal/family life. So the question I ask: When government makes a compromise, why is it always the worst of both worlds?
