    I've been testing a Macbook for a Mac pilot in the place that I work at and I have noticed the machine also running hot with OSX. It's a Core Duo as well. Could it be the chipset of the machine? Possibly the Core 2's won't have this problem.

    The airlines must be strapped for cash. A company I used to work for had a few mentally challenged employees who decided to check their laptops in instead of bringing it with them as carry on and every single one of them had their baggage broken into and their laptops stolen. After complaining numerous times to the airline, we were directed to the DHS and til the day I left, the company had not received compensation for the stolen laptops from either organization.

    In the US (Spain is probably similar...most countries have similar copyright laws since the Berne convention), the RIAA is not involved with this money. It is distributed by an independent panel which spreads the money around based on the previously noted sales figures. They use fixed percentages to determine what bodies get the money (e.g. x% to labels, y% to publishers, z% to songwriters, etc.). Interestingly, their system bypasses teh normal trickle-down system where money is paid directly to copyright holders (labels and publishers usually) and then distributed through royalties from there

    Since when has the US been charging a royalty tax on blank media?

    If I were them, I'd rebuild those servers. No telling what backdoors and spy software those RIAA-MPAA goons/law enforcement officials put on the machines while they were searching for incriminating evidence.

    The CIA doing this in secrecy is not the main issue, though it makes what's going on more insulting. The problem is that the CIA is taking information that is in the Public Domain off of it.

    What percent of shares do they still own? If they end up selling too much stock, an unscrupulous company may swoop down, buy all these shares, and then gain controlling interest in the company.

    As well as "SUPER UBER HURRICANES". I remember watching something on PBS on this or reading an article, but what heavily influences the strength of a hurricane is the temperature of the water. That's what happened with Katrina this year. It was a relatively meek category 2 hurricane after it left Florida, but it hit a hot spot in the Gulf and exploded into a category 5 practically overnight.
