    A company I worked for was charging the batteries in medical implants in this manner 10 years ago. In fact, the implant's charge coil is inside its Titanium case. The magnetic field goes right through the case. The charger had a class E amplifier. It worked very well. I would not doubt if this company already has a patent on this technique.

    Probably the value/price ratio will be better for Windows 7 than for Vista (or at least, the perception of it). Of course, if you take that into account Mac OS X could have a better ratio, and Linux, well, give math headaches.

    The simplest thing to do is to have a second disk in your computer, one for bad things and the second as a legal spare. Some truck drivers keep multiple log books, so something like that would be easier.

    This is what Firewire was made for ;) What drive? Just be sure to dust off the area where that drive sat.

    Most of the newspapers around where I live have mostly ads and for content, they have a lot of crap from the AP. I can read that online now for free. There is very little local news that is worth reading. Lots of fluff. I have a hard time believing that a change in the delivery mechanism will turn around their declining subscription rates. They need to make the content worth reading.

    You got it. Our debt is so large that nothing seems excessive in comparison. If I had $1000 of credit card debt, an additional $100 charge seems like a lot. But if I had $100K in credit card debt, $100 seems like a drop in the bucket and hardly worth a second thought.

    I don't know how we get out of this. Raising taxes will not reverse the spending habits. If anything, our gov will just spend even more.

    Way too messy. If the computer had the ability to control the ventilation system and hatch locks, the computer could lock them inside. That is when the nerve agent would be released. Post the video of those bastard's slow, agonizing death on YouTube. That would make them think twice about jacking ships.

    I'll bite. Let's see this vast list of professional software that only runs on Windows and has no equivalent FOSS solution (and that only you know about apparently.)

    I'll name just a few and note that I said natively:
    -Microwave Office (I only have access to Windows version)
    -Altium Designer Summer 08
    -Mathcad
    The list really does go on and on even if you don't want to admit it. Microwave Office alone cost about $30K and we don't have the bucks to upgrade to the latest version right now. And re-purchasing all this software just so we could run Linux is not acceptable. This is what I meant about "Obsolete".
