  1. Child porn or children watching (adult) porn? on DoJ search requests: Yahoo, AOL, MSN said "Yes" · · Score: 2, Interesting

One issue which I think was fuzzy in the earlier post and in this one is what the DoJ is actually concerned with. Are they looking to find child porn-related searches, or are they looking for the amount of (legal) porn sites returned in searche results (which may inadvertently expose children to porn)? Or are they looking at both? These are two very different issues, and I'm curious if anyone can enlighten us as to the real situation.

Here in Georgia, USA, at least, you can make one phone call and have all underground gas, cable, phone, sewer, and electric lines located for you. For free. People come from the various services and stick little flags in the ground over the lines.

I had to do this when I dug up part of my front yard to put in a flower bed.

First of all, what do you need a flower bed for, nancy boy? ;) Second, I just thought of the coolest prank to play on your neighbor. Move the flags for the gas line to the other side of the yard before he digs.

This makes me wonder if the Chinese government didn't have another motive in enforcing this limit. After all, it would interfere with "gold farming" businesses. Maybe they didn't like the idea and manufacutred this "gaming addiction" excuse as a cover-up.

There's so much left to explore in this universe, it's hard for me to just write the whole thing off as a failure. What will happen to the Alliance assasin who promised to be a good guy? Will Jayne ever sell out the crew for real? What will happen between Mal and Inara? The world may never know. And I'll be damned if I'll get the answers to these questions from fan fic...

However, I must say that I think the usage has changed or expanded since then. I've heard many examples of people in fiction or real life saying "you can't have your cake and eat it too" when they meant "I'm working too hard to enjoy the fruits of my labor". This certainly is an enigmatic little adage.

I doubt the people involved with Firefly (actors, Joss Whedon(sp?), producers) are all that thrilled about doing another TV series. The Firefly episodes were, IMHO, very well produced, with excellent CGI. I'm not surprised by the $1e6/episode pricetag. Since they've established themselves in the movie-going public's mind, they probably have a better chance of profitability in the movie arena. I get the feeling that they are really focused on making a sequel to the movie. I'd be happy to see either. At any rate, I'm not surprised the fund raiser approach failed. There just aren't that many people who are that enthused about it to give away money.

It means if you stop working in order to enjoy the fruits of your labor (your "cake"), you'll stop earning or producing more "cake" to enjoy. Think of an executive who works 80+ hours/week and earns $250,000/year. He could take a job that required 40 h/week with 4 weeks vacation, but it would mean taking a big pay cut.
