That is what FOS needs. It is fun working on state-of-the-art stuff. But it isn't fun being end user of FOS apps that are buggy because developers make new bugs before fixing iportant old ones.
This is the problem with open source, since there is more freedom what to do. Often new releases are more fun to do than to fix old broken stuff. Just take a look at KDE and Linux distro releases, they come so often.
Well you felt the anger of the homogeneous mass of brainless apples.
anyway, this is serious bug that we are not used to experience from Apple. Although advantage of Apple products is very discussable, quality or basic product usability was not. I wonder how they managed to screw up so badly. Some internal testing had to show that iPhone 4 signal reception isn't as good as previous version were. Did middle management slide it under carpet like how it is done everywhere?
Sure - but at rate that Chines workers they are working for now, they need 12 hours work days in order to survive.. that does not buy you similar standard as ~$15/hr + overtime for manuf. jobs in USA.
Finally, manufacturing in USA will be viable option for at least some companies...While in USA labor costs are usually one of biggest expenses for companies, it ain't so in China.
Globalism should aslo mean there is fair labor rate everywhere.
Yep, GMA950 is bad, but not that bad that they put it in their system at first place. Although they claimed long time ago how PCs suffer with onboard graphics. I agree with you, they do. Should they claimed "current graphics is barely tolerable, but previous one sucked 5x time more"? Of course not, but that's the cold truth.
But the point is if you look hard anough you'll find something that has improved a bit, and rest is marketing, all these nice "2x, 5x faster" on Apple's site. Heh, even core 2 duos/quad 2 duos are now whatever-x faster than G5. And back then G5 was dominating intel's offerings at their every benchmark.
so, expect something how "we're better than android" from Jobs.
Yep! Alians were talking through mind of Arthur C Clarke. While we are doing SETI on stars millions of light years away, aliens are showing their existance through naked eye!
That's the real name of the game, people what to download whatever they want but that nobody recognized them. Just like thieves wear black mask so that they are not recognized when stealing.
Such protocols will be frowned upon by bigger players than RIAA and MPAA, for example international police don't want child predators to be able to share illegal material with such privacy.
720P or similar should be given to paid subscriptions, it does look a lot better on HD boxes. Amazon and iTunes do it.
Any internet capable device that can do Netflix (blue-ray players, all gaming consoles) should be able to play Hulu too, cuz you do want to watch this on TB, not on computer screen (yes, we geeks connect laptops/HTPC to TVs, but not everybody does).
It is simply that they follow path of less resistance.
Neither dealing with makefiles or coding in low level language that uses pointers are too interesting to young developers, in fact most younger developers/ new grads struggle with makefiles. At best they know how to write make file that compiles single project without external dependencies.
Same with pointers, less and less courses offer C/C++ coding. Even if they do, it is not sufficient to get involved in huge project.
So environment is not too interesting, it is actually too difficult for most young developers as these things are not covered too much at class. Let's not forget other thing - laziness - learning all this is not easy. There are other easier devel. env. that do most of work for the developer.
Is having instant purchase. They should integrate ordering system with carriers, so when I click on buy app, it would bill my plan, instead of making me to type my credit card number.
That will increase sales as well. See amazon and their one click patent.
Mr. GM, why do you think people use your service? Nobody else needs gigabytes of data to share with their buddies online - they simply borrow them a DVD, CD or game. No business would date to store some sensitive data here. Simply because business that allows (or is unable to stop it) infringement material to be stored is not a serious business in eyes of many.

whether they had to ask Steve if he'll let them install these iPhone apps on other soldiers phones.
And many countries in dictatorship loved their presidents-for-life.
Draw your parallels.
iPhone 4 - first really safe phone - now comes with bumper!
They want their antenna design.

Until big dollars representation finds their way in Spain and tell them how it *should be*.

There will be some made-up with no real world significance benchmark or statistics how iPhone OS is superior to Android.
Ex. Mac mini now 5x faster in graphic than previous generaiton with intel onboard graphics.
At least fans will believe it.
"Today at its I/O Developer event Google revealed that it is now up to an incredible 100,000 Android activations worldwide per day."

After Flash support comes out, buzz will be among the masses that your Android phone does everything that PC does plus much more.
Imagine watching Hulu on your phone, anywhere.

or more.
This simply shows that they could be making much more... but if they are happy with what they do, who are we to say?
I wish we had more companies that make what they love to do; and are not trying to achieve more revenue and profits.
Sad thing is that today people don't even know what is plain text format, but they do know what is .doc file.
Plain Text Format!
Even companies such as Adobe, Microsoft, and Apple with joint efforts could eventually make TXT format readers that have next-to-0 security holes. :)
Whoever ever bought LG 60Hz LCD TV or LCD monitor knows about panel lottery in which LG sells AOU, CHI-MEI, even Sharp panels as their own

Hopefully it will have way to bock Flash, and let you open Flash items that you want - but that means less money from advertising.
Even most powerful PC gets sluggish on web pages with bunch of flash 'features'. You can't have as good PC as there are as bad flash/web developers.

Did they went will all development without checking with apple first if they will allow this app?
