For me, the simplest example of an error in the Bible is the order of the three temptations of Jesus in the Gospels. In Luke, the temptation at the temple is last. In Matthew, it is the second temptation. So, that leaves a couple of options--there were two distinct temptation events, with most of the details kept the same (even using very similar wording), only the order differing, or the authors decided to change the order according to their own narrative. For me, the issue of God commanding genocide in Deuteronomy made me realize that the Bible can't possibly be 'true' in the way that most conservative Christians say.

I have also had problems with 5.1 surround sound. This weekend I spent a few hours working with nforce and sound blaster on Ubuntu and never got it working. I also don't see how it is anyone but the company's fault, unless you fault the distros and user for not pressuring vendors to provide more support. Perhaps a company should take a second step and move towards an Apple like strategy of having strict control over the hardware environment.

Just a quick clarification. I don't know if it technically syncs with Google. You can subscribe to Google calendars and show it in Sunbird, you can create events in Sunbird that will write to Google calendar, but it does not keep the information in Sunbird if you are offline and any changes that are made offline are not later transferred to Google calender. It is still handy, but only if you are online. Peace...

By going to hotmail and deleting the spam, I have to look at their page and ads (if I didn't have adblocker). Otherwise, your comment appears to be demeaning, classist and somewhat ignorant. Sure, let's just keep them poor and not give them any means or power to overcome it. Who knows what THEY will do with that sort of power. You are probably a decent person, but please have more sensitivity when posting something like the above.

I use Avast, and have had no problems. A couple of years ago it would mess up my system tray icons, but they seem to have solved that. If I am on my laptop and cannot connect to the internet, I get an annoying warning that the database could not be updated. A couple of my co-workers have AVG and all of their emails have a tag that "this email is certified by AVG to be free of viruses" or something to that affect. It is really annoying. I don't know if there is a way to turn it off, I am never approached them about it.
