    Perfect, no. Better, yes.

Some of your complaints don't seem like a faulty user experience so much as not having features you value (adding SMS tones). Others do have some validity (can't add a contact to a group).

Most of them seem like BS arguments to me though. Never had my phone wiped, ever, in 2+ years, nor even heard of one of my friends having the issue. iTunes hasn't ever given me a problem in any way. WTF are you using Finder for when dealing with an iPhone? (Let's leave alone the reality that Finder is not hard to use at all)

I realize it's different. From the context of the post it seems apparent that you are a Windows user. That may account for a lot of it (Finder and iTunes issues) but you're going a bit over the top on this. With a customer satisfaction rating approaching 90% I'd say most people are very satisfied with the user experience.

They were huge revolutions on a technical level. The hardware and software together made a user interface that was natural, easy to use, intuitive for your average user, almost a joy to use in comparison to those pre-existing smartphones you mention. They were so revolutionary that people gasped in the room when he demoed the phone. They were so revolutionary that all other manufacturers changed their focus to create an "iPhone killer" because it was instantly known to be the pinnacle of phones.

If you can't see the reality of how the iPhone and iPad have revolutionized their markets then I assume it's more a case of blindness or denial on your part.

Seriously? Do you read the drivel you write, or just spout it. These are the stupidest denial arguments I've ever seen. I think the problem is YOU don't understand why it's been selling so well (because it IS a revolutionary product) and so your inability to comprehend it leads to disingenuous arguments. These two products alone were THE revolutionary products of the last 3 years, both of which turned the existing market upside down and sent EVERYONE scrambling. Saying those two products were only evolutions of existing products is utter bullshit. There was nothing like them before (don't give me the smartphones and tablets existed before argument either, that is beyond stupidity) and Apple has rattled the cages of the world with both of these products.

I personally don't have anything against Android, but let's face a few facts. The iPhone paved the way for Android on phones. One could even say Android was a blatant rip off of Apple's OS by Google. In the same vein, the Android tablet compatible OS looks to be another attempt by Google to profit off Apple's ideas. Not only is Google perpetually following Apple on everything (Google TV too) but in some cases it's such a blatant rip off it's pathetic. Jeez, do I have to explain this. BOTH iphones and android devices are available through AT&T. iPhone outsells Android phones by at least a factor of ten (there was a recent article on this just within the last week or so). So locked, unlocked, it makes no difference in this example. Amongst AT&T users iPhone outsells Android by a huge margin. Will that happen at Verizon, time will tell, but I think some Android fans have their head in the sand if they think the iPhone's glory days are over. Let's wait a year and see what has happened to iPhone and Android sales on Verizon. I personally believe that Android has only seen such success because it hasn't had to compete with head to head with the iPhone on that network. I think Android US Verizon sales will come to a screeching halt compared to its current pace.

I don't think Android is a bad phone, I'd place it second behind the iPhone, but I don't think it is as well thought out and refined from an average consumer perspective. Apple has done well creating an integrated ecosystem that is easy for the average Joe (or Jane) to use. I think that is why it has such widespread appeal, and surprisingly that is something that most tech nerds just can't seem to understand.

You're going through life with blinders on if you think the iPhone is on the decline. The rest of your post is just utter stupidity. Apple led the current smartphone market explosion, Google copied and followed. Apple led the current tablet explosion, Google is busy copying and following in Apple's footsteps. Apple builds very good products, tightly integrated, industry leading customer satisfaction and customer support numbers (yes, LEADING, and those are hard numbers for YEARS now, it's not a factor of "cool").
