Even if I lead you to water, you won't drink. If you don't have enough objectivity and honesty to see that Apple is leading and others are following lately then I can't help you at all, no matter what answer I provide.
Only in a complete state of denial could you argue that Bush didn't deserve those slogans. He was a shitty President and did more to harm our country than any terrorist ever could. There's loony folks on both sides, but if someone is ripping on Bush then I wouldn't automatically dump them in that category. Maybe if we'd heeded some of those criticisms our country wouldn't be endlessly mired in war, financially ruined, and globally scorned by people around the world who are not infected with Tea Pary logic.
I would agree with your statement "you have no less right to security outside your own home". 100% agree. But the reality is people do believe that their home is their castle and they should never feel threatened in their own home. You walk out on the street, everyone (except you maybe) seems to understand that you're in the jungle then, and even though you should still feel secure, it's public domain and anything can happen. In your home you know that the only person that should be there is yourself, your family, and someone you explicitly invite. Anyone who invades, breaks in, etc. can reasonably be a threat to your life because they have crossed a sacred social boundary that we all (again, maybe not you) know exists.
While I get the utopian argument you're trying to push in this post, you seem to be divorced from the reality of life on this planet. There are good people and bad people. Bad people hurt good people. Bad people break into someone else's house. Bad people are not to be trusted. Remove the threat from a bad person before they have the chance to make you a dead good person. If you can do that non-lethally then great, but if they've crossed the threshold of your door then you shouldn't have to show manners while you preserve the safety of yourself and your family.
I would say that is the very definition of confront. A person invades your house, you have no real idea why they are there because you can't ask them, and even if you did ask them a person who would invade your house might be unlikely to tell the truth. It is perfectly reasonable to believe your life could be in danger. So then you CONFRONT him with whatever weapon you can find, and if you kill him, well too bad.
Moral of the story, don't break into SOMEONE ELSE'S HOUSE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT and then be surprised when they fight back.
You've got to be a troll just trying to provoke a fight, because I find it hard to fathom you are as stupid as your posts lead me to believe?
Maybe you should listen to the Apple fans and learn something. You obviously aren't the sharpest knife in the drawer since you go out of your way to complain about how you can't avoid Apple news, on a site which allows you to BLOCK Apple news. So how stupid are you? You complaint is false, you can avoid it if you make the slightest effort, but you want to be bitchy and blame Apple fans for your bitchiness because you can't comprehend why they like Apple products. Don't get me wrong, you aren't required to like Apple, agree with Apple fans, or understand why Apple fans like Apple products, but could you kindly STFU when the ability to block Apple stories is right under your nose!!
If it was an apples to apples comparison then maybe it would be something Apple should worry about, but the mobile market is NOT the same as the PC market of 25 years ago. That's not saying Apple will dominate nor Android, but then again who cares. I buy Apple products because I like them. If someone else doesn't then they can buy something else. Why is it necessary for one to dominate? To be honest, I think those days are gone, I don't think any phone maker is going to dominate any more, there will always be many choices.
Fortunately we have saints such as yourself, who do everything for free and only exist to serve humanity. Hopefully it's enough to balance out the evil of Apple who like to get paid for their hard work (selfish bastards!!).
Don't let your Android fanboi viewpoint interfere with the fact that there's just as much wrong with Android's approach as there is with Apple's. Please continue.
Easy champ. This may come as a surprise to you, but not everyone shares your blind hatred of Apple. I know it's fashionable to bash Apple now, and you want to hang with the cool kids on campus, but being a follower is not going to make you popular.
Have read dozens of books on my iPhone in 2 years, I have to say that you don't need E Ink to read comfortably. I've read for hours on end many times with not an ounce of eye strain. E Ink may be nice, but it's not necessary for a comfortable and enjoyable reading experience.
Sorry pal, but he kicked your ass severely on this thread. He actually has experience doing development and supporting himself with building apps for Apple products and you have what(?) qualifications? You got beat down in this thread and your ignorance on the subject shows.
I think pulling his head out of the sand and facing the reality that the iPad and iPhone are popular for more than just "fad" reasons scares the shit out of him. He's built up this fantasy-land where Apple's success with these products is all marketing and status seekers, and to face reality means his house of cards all comes tumbling down. Don't blame him though, he's fallen victim to the latest fad, Apple denial and hatred. Ironic how he belittles what he thinks is a fad, and he's fallen victim to the latest tech fad himself.
Well then you should step out of your anti-Apple distortion field. Saying there were other tablets before the iPad, and thus it is nothing special, is like saying there were other cars before a Ferrari and thus Ferrari's are nothing special. If you're so rabidly anti-Apple that your brain has warped to think like my example then maybe you should examine yourself a bit. You say you have sight, but you obviously can not see.
"Name a single company that teaches you how to design satellite parts without any knowledge beyond 12th grade and I'll eat my fucking hat."
- Or, conversely, name a single college course that teaches you how to design satellite parts without any knowledge beyond 12th grade and I'll eat MY fucking hat.
Works both ways. . . . Maybe you could take a moment to design something to fit your giant ego and inflated self worth into so the rest of us don't have to be exposed to it?
You must be a real engineer, because your ego and shitty social skills fit the profile. And just for the record, YOU don't actually build something. You DESIGN something. If building something is the criteria for an engineer then the software engineer usually designs AND builds, so they seem to fit the profile.
Oh fuck off you anonymous coward. The women consented to fuck him, there is NO such thing as safe sex so let's not muddy the waters with that bullshit. Next you'll be telling me that the consent was based only on missionary position.
Don't want to feel like a whore? Then don't be one.
Don't want to have "unsafe sex"? Then don't fuck someone you just met hours ago.
Take responsibility for your decisions and close your legs and you'll find both of these issues disappear.
Yeah, throw "walled garden" into another post and see if it makes a difference in Apple's sales. It seems that you're trying harder to convince yourself about Android than anyone else.
I seriously doubt the people that bought iPads are feeling stupid at all. From all the reviews I've read most owners love them and many say they hardly use their other computers any more. But hey, don't let reality ruin a good Apple Hate. I'm sure the whole world has been waiting on the edge of their seats for this Android device. . . .
The only problem with this argument is that public opinion doesn't matter. Take this latest news for example. Let's say that they want to reel him in, but they want to do it under the guise of legal law enforcement. So they carefully construct a crime to accuse him of, rape is excellent because it's his word versus her word (usually), and then they can issue a warrant. They can use that warrant to get cooperation from other national police agencies and pretty soon he is wanted everywhere. So one day they nab him and they put him on trial. What difference will public opinion make? Are you or I going to storm the walls and set him free? Unfortunately no, we're all too comfortable with our lives and unwilling to sacrifice it for a principle, unless it's a convenient principle.
Think you may be living in denial. Show me a Palm device that had an interface and GUI like Apple. Saying it was touch screen does NOT make it an apple to apples comparison. That's like saying the wheel had been invented yet and so Ferrari has done nothing new with their new cars. It's an attempt to dismiss what you don't understand, or you don't understand something and you attempt to dismiss it.
Exactly, Apple HAS failed here and there, so it's not blind obedience by fanboys, as some try to dismiss it. It's that Apple tries to identify how they would want to use a product (say. . . a phone) and then build it that way upon the assumption that many others will also enjoy using it that way. They are not always right (the Apple radio, cube, etc.) but they do pretty well, and it's not blind fanboys, free press, or hypnotic marketing. It's being very good at identifying underlying customer usage patterns and desires and building a product that is enjoyable to use, rather than a feature list spec sheet of 30 USB ports.
Even if I lead you to water, you won't drink. If you don't have enough objectivity and honesty to see that Apple is leading and others are following lately then I can't help you at all, no matter what answer I provide.

I doubt you will get credit from anyone else, but pat yourself on the back. Yours is the single most insightful post I have ever seen.
I would agree with your statement "you have no less right to security outside your own home". 100% agree. Fanbois in denial. Eric could poop in your mouth and you'd say it tastes good.

I read your comment. It was stupid. That was why I replied to it in the first place.
I seriously doubt the people that bought iPads are feeling stupid at all. From all the reviews I've read most owners love them and many say they hardly use their other computers any more. But hey, don't let reality ruin a good Apple Hate. I'm sure the whole world has been waiting on the edge of their seats for this Android device. . . .
To paraphrase a group of idiots I've seen online, "it's just a big iPod Touch".
