I modded yesterday's article, so now I have a chance to say something about this. I think that if the user can't make up his mind whether he likes the site or not in such a short period of time, then the site is obviously broken.
If I can't tell what a site is about by looking at the way it presents itself, then its design is flawed and I simply don't want to be visiting it anyway.
RPGs and platformers are, in my opinion, and that of many other gamers, not played better on a PC. I can understand it if you can play some PC RPGs better on a keyboard, but platformers?
Take a look at the amount of RPGs and platformers that have been released for the PC and any console!
Something tells me that a blacklist of e-mail addresses isn't going to make much of a difference for spammers, and thus the children's inboxes. And in case I'm mistaken, where can I sign myself up for this superior spam filter?
I don't think that this is a good idea. No matter how you look at it, Linux is not and will not (soon) be an operating system ready for my grandma to use; it's much better suited as an operating system to those who simply want more power and more control. Linspire is most likely the worst choice if you take this into consideration. If I want a good system, I'd much rather get Debian (or Ubuntu?) with my computer.

Aramaki: Is this a joke?
Nakamura: Ridiculous! It's programmed for self-preservation!
Puppetmaster: It can also be argued that DNA is nothing more than a program, designed to preserve itself...

How long till we can create something that could be considered a form of life? And how long until it will be considered ethical to start doing it?

What I would like GRUB to have is support for special boot-up commands that load when you press certain keys. Really, I don't need to see all those different kernels, plus "safe mode" and "memory test" in my boot loader whenever I start my computer. I'd like to ban those options to specific buttons, like the F8 button for Windows.
In fact, since everyone is already plenty upset over ICANN retaining monopolistic levels of control, any further attempts to exercise control over countries will possibly lead to them setting up an entire infrastructure alternative in defiance.
As I recall it, last time they threatened that, they backed out because that's REALLY not what anybody wants. I firmly believe that America will continue to push its boundaries, as there really isn't much anybody is going to do against it.
My e-mail address has a spam filter on the server, which detects pretty much 98% of all garbage that comes in and labels it [SPAM], which is then sent to my junk mail folder upon download. You can pass a million acts and laws, but it's really things like this that are actually effective.
You have a point there, but could you please elaborate on this? We all have our opinions on Microsoft's handling of things, and though they generally conclude the same thing, it's still not a bad idea to tell us in great lines what exactly is the problem.
Computer gaming and console gaming are way different. A lot of people prefer using a computer for their games because of how different the controls are; I personally couldn't get in the whole Halo 2 on the X-Box deal. Sure, it's an awesome game, but I'm absolutely nowhere without my W, A, S, D, and six-button mouse.
Of course, then there's the combination of gaming along with instant messaging and IRC, and so forth, things that are impossible not to have to the semi-serious gamer.
Unfortunately, some branches of Wikipedia are underdeveloped. Food, for example; there are only a bunch of ridiculously small articles about food. Take Fish (food), for instance, which is just barely over stub length. In fact, it should probably BE a stub as it is right now.
To me personally, it would seem a lot more important to have than Lightsaber combat...
Yes, but poor language is easily fixed. Afterall, I don't think there will be edit/revert wars over whether site x was founded earlier then site y, or whether site x was founded earlier than site y.
Of course the music industry is interested in that data. But that doesn't mean they can just obtain it like that. As long as this is kept an anti-terrorist measure, they have no foot to stand on.
Keep in mind that data will be kept for UP TO two years; most will opt for the minimum of half a year instead.

I don't agree with some of them. XviD? Yeah, it's okay, but vastly inferior to x264. phpBB? Yeah, not bad software, but not as good as SMF.

Forget my last post as well. Thank goodness I'm somehow not the only one to make this mistake. :)
He, who? Peter Ashdown or Orrin Hatch?
Wikimedia wouldn't even be a suitable choice. The Internet Archive would be, however.

Well... Gentoo. :)

Shouldn't they have waited for Google to create a fix for it before outlining this bug?

Am I the only one in the world who kind of likes the vertical tab side-bar in IE for Mac?

Because they have permalinks? Besides, you're supposed to add a date of revision whenever you quote or refer, anyway.
