In the mean time, Sun still refuses to give required documentation so OpenBSD can support the so-called "Open" platform from Sun. As Theo explained, some details have impact on a lot of system subroutines everywhere, and checking Linux source code is not enough (would be easy but BSD is not Linux and there are fundamental differences in how the VM works and so on).
Even a journalist asked very clear and precise questions about the so-called "Open" platform from Sun and he never got any answer (and won't ever, probably).
If he has not asked for legal representation, and has not signed anything with those lawyers, he should not care. They have to show proof (signed document from him) that he asked for legal representation.
He did publish an open letter explaining that he did not ask for anything, and he should say that those lawyers are not acting on his behalf.
But what happens if you have the same name and surname as someone else ?
Myself, I have a fairly common portuguese name. And to add to this, I wear a surname that was very common in the seventies when I was born. So my name is quite common.
In the company I work for example, there are two people with the same name as me. And one day, one of my friends told me that a guy with the same family name and surname had created a web page repertoring most of us, our location and what we did in life !
So what happens if someone googles for your name and surname and finds information and/or posts from someone else than you ?
When you are frozen, the water in your cells (and your body is mostly water) does FROZE. When this happens, the shards of that frozen water puncturate your damn [censored] cells, destroying them.
So you are in even worse biological "shape" once frozen than just dead. By frozing you destroy your cells when water freezes there.
I am amazed how this simple stupid fact is never explained to people that want to get frozen.
using latin to make people think you're educated ?

Deus ex machina ?
The Deux ex machina comes from theathers. It was stories with people getting stuck, and some god would come from above to solve the problem, and the god would be dropped on scene using rude and visible wires and mecanisms : this is why it is called deus ex machina (the god coming from the machine).
This so called journalist is obviously trying to use latin to make people think he's clever or educated.
He is not, obviously. And on Internet, it is better to be stupid and silent than to talk and remove any doubt about it:)
(if someone does know from who this famous quote comes from, please recall it to my faulty memory)
You obviously dont know what you're talking about. When a program under Unix is loaded and requires a library, that library is loaded in memory until the program no longer uses it. So if you do update a library on disk, as long your program is on memory it will use the library loaded on memory (the previous one) and won't use the newly installed once until it is restarted. New programs launched will use the new library.
And people that can't talk, what will they do ? There are some people that don't hear, and some that don't talk because of a disease or alike.
It is as stupid as declaring a one year old child a potential terrorist because he has no fingerprints or passport as the US customs do. New born child cant have passwords because they wont have fingerprint until a few years old.
You dont want planes to explode ? Dont have planes fly. In the end, this will be their solution I guess.
Stupid people have no limits to their stupidity and they try anything : that's how you recognize them in fact.
The Mac hardware is as bad at the PC hardware.
If you learn programming and start reading BSD and Linux sources for
controllers and code to handle Mac hardware, you will soon discover
very ugly problems from Apple hardware (think ugly tricks to go around
fucked components and non-working DMA or crippled stuff).
Because it's white and shiny and works doesn't mean it's not crappy
below. They just spent more time going around bugs because stupid
marketing people want to push products out with hardware flaws they
got to go around, and you end up paying products more than their real
value for under-performance.
The Tesla grounded power experiments have been used to develop and make feasible the very low frequency and very long range communication systems for submarines (emission only) using earth's crust upper part as resonator.
They could use this patent to annoy other stores online or..
They could have took this patent to avoid other stores get such a patent and sue them.
Some companies like IBM often take patents more to protect themselves than to ask people to give them huge amounts of cash like some crack addicts like SCO^H^H^Hlamers.
Takes years outside of the ships. Most travels in the books takes years too. Decades or more outside. Makes the whole thing pretty interesting to have everything capped by speed of light.
If we think nothing can go faster than speed of light (information itself and gravity waves seem to respect this until proven otherwise someday) we can believe they have ships (if they do exist and have ships) that cannot go over speed of light. It makes me think of the technology we can see in the books by Alastair Reynolds. Those books are written by a scientist and nothing in those books goes faster than speed of light. Ships are called "Light Huggers" and they take years to get close to speed of light, and years to slow down.
So we might first see the light from their exhausts for a few years before any ship really comes close to us, if someday an alien ship would have to come by and if it doesn't go faster than light.
Solaris hardware support compared to Linux is a joke.
And coming from a BSD guy this is rather tasty huh;)
Sun will end like DEC did.
Too late to the game, they have beliefs that cloud their vision of reality.
There is a very nice book to read about Pi. It tells the history of humans calculating Pi from the ancient Egypt era and covers every new method and Pi trivia :
Pi-Unleashed by Jorg Arndt
It's a yellow book and it's very nice to read:)
There is also a good book but I've not read it yet :
Pi: A Source Book by Lennart Berggren, Peter B. Borwein, Jonathan M. Borwein
And now guess who proposed the formula for the binary digit.
Yes. You already know the answer. Again.
Nice to see you are interested in Pi. I love this number so much I wrote a whole article about it in french in a magazine, some years ago. Of all the time I ever spent writing articles, this one has been the funniest to write, ever.
God bless ubiquitious Pi.
While Fabrice is a respectable person, he did not invent this formula. One of the most responsible persons for this discover is called Plouffe. The complete formula name is the Bailey-Borwein-Plouffe and the most interesting way is how they did "discover" it : Mathematica did with input from them and it was a surprise for them when it spitted out the formula.
What you call 100 % troll I call facts.
But that would require a brain and learning to use google.
Have fun building sand castles in wonderland.

Nothing to see here, move along.

I'm not an native english speaker :)

There will be one or ones.
Those that unify general relativity and quantum theory.
Those that will give us the great unification of forces and that ever evading gravity.
Dvorak is pathetic. Very poor knowledge on almost anything he speaks about.
That's incredible to be so bad at so many subjects.
But the biggest dickheads are those that keep selecting his crap and posting it to Slashdot.

It would be strange to move from a situation where Intel sold most PC CPUs to an AMD world where Intel CPUs are mostly found.. on Apple Macs :)

The article might seem mostly useless, but it's quite refreshing after weeks of bad science bullshit articles on Slashdot.
