What pisses me off is if im in the car and on the radio on a Talk show, they talk about how
their "Brand Name Car" helped them get to work and how its soo nice.
Its one thing that they have ad's but to put them in the program pisses me off.

What I do to combat it is this.
    I keep a tally,

See a commercial for Arbys? don't eat there
Hear a commecrial for jewerly? buy at a competitor when needed
See a billboard for a radio station? beer? don't listen / don't drink that.

    with that in mind.

I usually try to keep my business to local mom and pop shops when I can.
Publically supported radio stations (which I try to help) not those clear channel radio stations

Now, I believe ad's have their places. If Im looking for something specefic? yellow pages, don't mind the ad's there cause I am LOOKING for it.

As for flash ad's? I don't use flash anymore. (saves me hassles).

Maybe for once they are looking out for a specific group of people that might have a problem with it? Now, if they banned it all together, I could understand why people might be unhappy.

"I've vowed never to eat at a Burger King again."

I do not sit down and watch "live" tv anymore.
I make it a personal mission to not buy anything that I see an add for.
See a commercial for arbys? don't go there.
See a commercial for local dealership? don't buy there.
Hear a commercial on the radio? purposely don't buy there.
I feel plagued by ad's I live in a city and the bilboards are like rats.

since I go out of my way NOT to see ad's or pay for them, or subject myself to them that when they do get through to me I make sure that I don't buy.

My girlfriend always reads magazines, and always talks about how good of a deal she got, and I said ok, flip through the first 20 pages count the number of ad's.
More ad's than content, means that she pays for her "cheap magazine"
    Which people just don't understand.

I will never support or buy a product that forces me to watch or pay for commercials.

next step is for the next time I move to not change a single address block, get a local PO box, and have everything go there and not check the po box ever.

Now I can afford the food (I still get the smallest sizes) I enjoy movies in general because of entertainment. I enjoy theatres for the fullness of the effect of Going to the movie. Most people just want to be entertained, and thus dvd is nice. Theatre to me is, getting out, doing something, having a scheduled time, comfortable place to sit, and drink a nice beer. Unfortunately the places like that are no where near me (berlin has a nice theatre, in comparison) I hope they start to release the DVD's sooner to allow for more money going to the bloated salaries of everyone that acts in the movie, so that the prices of the tickets go down and so that the annoyances that just want to be entertained just stay home and watch there dvd while I enjoy a nice small bag of popcorn and enjoy the experience.
