  1. Re:BookCrossing on Solving the Home Library Problem? · · Score: 1

I work at a book store where they have to sort pallets, and go through 100,000 books via sort.

Easiest way that I have found to get them organized physically before being processed for data is

    Size,

    Small, normal, large

    then by color

    primarily blue/green, red/black, yellow/white

then since you have less books a bucket sort on each wouldn't hurt.

well its not just for mac os, many things, livecd's that are debian based. Windows vista also has a slightly different take, it just pops up a dialog box everytime it wants to do something admin like. which is cool, except it doesn't give full admin which I guess is a step forward for windows. but if you want to change file permissions on a kernel file you should be able to without being forced to reboot to a recovery console, can do this in bsd and linux variants.

How do I know these numbers? I have written a particle systems manager in c# for opengl, the ability of the nVidia to push out a million + particles and maintain a high framerate is very nice for much more realistic effects like, hair, water, snow. its not "new" its just a further development

I would connect to BBS's and play rpg's there. If the kids just wanna sit there and play mindless games, I am not sure how long, but depending on the motivation and the desire, it could be a great thing to know at age 5. My Mother teaches 5 year olds in school and teaches them about the computer, how to type, has them playing typing games, and has them type letters, and draw out plans. It really depends on your kids on how much they want to do it. I ended up spending 10 hours a day on my dos / linux computer dialing up into BBS's. It ate into my school time, but I now program making more money than I would if I did go for an english degree and became a teacher.
