Of course, since Snow Leopard doesn't even include Rosetta to run PPC programs from 5 years ago, expecting Windows from 2009 to run 1993 applications is a stretch.
Actually, Snow Leopard does include Rosetta, but does not install it by default.
Now you're nitpicking. It's Apples app that is used for playing music on the iPhone/iPad, it is effectively 'iTunes' even if that's not its name. You missed the parents point and whatever your point was, it was way off target with regards to what you were replying to. The name of the app isn't important.
Home Premium is limited in what it can do and what software you can install. Atleast if they chose to do it similar to Vista, where you could not install the UNIX Tools for Windows on a "Home" license. GNU/Linux is not.
No, they do not charge extra for the power cord, it's listed in the tech specs. I cannot understand why they still let Nichols comment on anything, he's clueless.
What I have said in the EU case, is the GPL is not enough to ensure that competition in the market continues if the owner of the GPL copyright would benefit more by killing the product than keeping it alive.
First, how do you kill a GPL-project? Anyone can just fork it, or better yet, just contribute to Firebird or Postgres. Secondly, what would Oracle gain from killing MySQL? The customers that use MySQL aren't the ones that will pony up cash for Oracle, they'll much rather just switch to Postgres or Firebird.
What? Apple's monitors are identical to everyone else's, afaik.
Jesus, are you slow? He just said that Apples monitors uses IPS and LED backlighting, while other hardware manufacturers also use these, the price is the same if you check it out. The cheap monitors does not use IPS and LED. Get it? If you spec the same display, the price is about the same, if you spec different displays, Apples are more expensive. Kinda like comparing a 200$ laptop against a 17" Macbook Pro is comparing Oranges to Peaches.
Bullshit. The last Power Mac G5 was released 2005 and Leopard was the current release of OS X until August 2009 where PPC support was dropped. That's a bit more than three years and it certainly came after the AppleCare agreements ran out, which means that most businesses with a sane strategy has already began looking at replacing the aging workstations. Also, 10.5 is still getting security updates.
He's not saying it's good or bad, just that it's how it is. Either you are prepared for the concequences or you are not. No reason to act surprised here.

'Play' not 'aquire'.

Methinks you are underestimating how the conversation would go. This looks an awfully lot like a strawman to me.
People that like Apple are flexible, you have to be since you have to bend over all the time.
IE 7 and 8 on Win98? Are you quite sure about that?
I would absolutely love to se sources for this claim.
Why can't they do this via the Quicktime APIs that expose hardware acceleration to H.264?

Have you seen the hardware survey Valve has? Most Mac users have higher end hardware than that. No go spout your bullshit somewhere else.
Eric, is that you?
I wish there was a -1 Idiot mod.

I thought we were hating @ppl£ this week?
There is no one stopping you or anybody else from making closed source applications on GNU/Linux, if you want to.
It says "Apple-branded", i.e a machine that Apple has branded with... Well, an Apple. Not one that you've slapped a sticker on.
C'mon, this isn't even humor. I could understand if it was actually funny, but this is just a sad attempt at humor.
Yeah, that plot is so advanced.
No it isn't http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116499&cm_re=windows_server_2008-_-32-116-499-_-Product and no you don't. Microsoft owns it.

One would think that Microsoft has little to no problems doing this without the source.
