    I thought HBO is owned by Time-Warner so don't hold your breath about them decoupling HBO from cable. I'm in the same boat you are: would love to get/pay for HBO but not cable.

    While you are not wrong.

    Perpetual machines don't exist and we can't get free energy out of nothing. Eventually, restricting diet will lower weight.
    And people really really don't realize how much they eat (they are not dishonest, they just don't realize).

    I know exactly why Cisco did it, so they could remotely administer routers for "average users". That's not necessarily a terrible thing.

    But why do they need browsing history?

    Also I think facebook really helped reduce chain emails (and forwarded jokes) since all the stupid people just go to facebook and share and leave me alone.

    Only if you can peel it in vacuum, you can't get x-rays from peeling tape in atmosphere.

    I don't understand why Siri has to use the cloud for speech to text. I had a samsung phone 6 years ago that could do this on the device itself with. I understand if the text part (after it's been converted) needs to be sent for analysis but the device certainly has enough processing speed to understand speech without a network...
    I'm sure I'm missing something.

    When I'm driving is when I really want to use Siri so I don't have to look at my phone and that it when it fails most (I'm not always on 3G areas).

    sounds like you want an iPhone. when an app calls for your location, you get a pop up window: [application] wants to use your current location. Don't Allow or OK
