I thought HBO is owned by Time-Warner so don't hold your breath about them decoupling HBO from cable. I'm in the same boat you are: would love to get/pay for HBO but not cable.
Perpetual machines don't exist and we can't get free energy out of nothing. Eventually, restricting diet will lower weight. And people really really don't realize how much they eat (they are not dishonest, they just don't realize).
Also I think facebook really helped reduce chain emails (and forwarded jokes) since all the stupid people just go to facebook and share and leave me alone.
I don't understand why Siri has to use the cloud for speech to text. I had a samsung phone 6 years ago that could do this on the device itself with. I understand if the text part (after it's been converted) needs to be sent for analysis but the device certainly has enough processing speed to understand speech without a network... I'm sure I'm missing something.
When I'm driving is when I really want to use Siri so I don't have to look at my phone and that it when it fails most (I'm not always on 3G areas).
why should one conform to capitalization rules made up by some anonymous guy after the printing press was invented just because he didn't like how lowercase letters looked printed. i don't.
sounds like you want an iPhone. when an app calls for your location, you get a pop up window: [application] wants to use your current location. Don't Allow or OK
pretend you're blind and use the accessibility option of vioceover?
hold the phone to your ear when using siri to get audio feedback instead of visual feedback.
also lying not laying :)

While you are not wrong.

Do you know if this is a lifelong infection or if the parasites die in humans after a while?
call them freedom particles
Ahh, "let them eat cake" approach...
I'm gonna guess that a router uses less electricity.
I know exactly why Cisco did it, so they could remotely administer routers for "average users". That's not necessarily a terrible thing.
But why do they need browsing history?

It's really really unfortunate that you used MBA as an example.
I imagine no worse than peeling a roll of sticky tape... will they ban these evil inventions as well?
Only if you can peel it in vacuum, you can't get x-rays from peeling tape in atmosphere.
Even if they loose they can cause mayhem at a competitor in the 2 years that it takes to litigate.
I don't understand, what are they loosing?
does the operating system matter? (or is it just assumed that you want windows)

actually it's infinity percent markup since SMS costs telcos nothing at all...
nah, just smoke and mirrors...
Oh, I thought it was van der Waals forces.

i though that if your friends enable apps, then your data is already accessible to the developers
yeah but it's the principle of the thing....
don't you have to give your name/email to IBM and agree to the license before you can use Lotus Symphony?
