I don't think those numbers are very relevant. This technology is only supposed to make the skimming operation more effective by allowing for more concentrated oil to be stored on the tankers. That in turn should mean less tankers, less money, less time etc etc. I imagine the skimming would still take place if this technology didn't exist, so at worst BP will have wasted a few million on them (boo hoo).
Most people I know thought it was enjoyable enough, worth at least the dvd rental. I think it would have gotten better reviews if it hadn't cost so much to make.
Slashdot has a special offer at the moment. +5 insightful for worthless AC Trolling!!! Reply to this thread while it lasts, the madness must come to an end soon!!
The biggest problem is efficiency. Even if you had a battery with enough energy and power for a workable lightsabre, at even 99.9% efficiency the handle would probably melt in less than a second of use.
Something that blocks UV would presumably be damaged by UV. The only workable improvement I can think of at the moment would be in the clarity of the material.
"It, much higher than quality cosmetics in anti-oxidation capacity, is efficacious for different skin diseases, including allergic dermatitis. It also makes skin fair.
"The drink has no side-effect."
It's a fruit juice drink that turns your skin white, but has no side effects....eh?
Not sure I'm on the same page, but I understood that we're refering to the "greeness" of a bike vs a train... I would have thought that taking a person out of the equation would be a net benifit to the environment. So it's just another category where bikes are more green than trains.
So you're saying that the "Big Pharma's" should do the research? You're post is attacking the man more than the argument I think. I didn't read the article but I got the impression that the drug is cheap because it probably can't be patented for whatever reason. If that's the case I presume there would be nothing to stop another company immediately selling the drug on the back of the "Big Pharma's" research. So it's no surprise then that it's left to a charity to do the research.

. I didn't really mean to focus on the Ads, which are just a common example. I assume the whole PC == windows PC thing started with some marketing campaign or product decades ago, but the order of the assoication appears to be the reverse of the usual, eg Hoover == vacuum cleaner, and don't make much sense to me.
Are we not allowed to over hype anything, ever? Half the posts here read like "pfff the sun is way more powerful, this thing blows". It's an massive frigging laser, what more do people want? This research project is probably like a wet dream come true for any scientist that ever played with matches when they were a kid.
What you don't get however,... a comic book movie that can be mentioned in the same breath as The Dark Knight, Spider-Man 2 or X2
All the Spider-man movies were deeply disapointing, except maybe the 3rd one, since I was still so bored from the 2nd one that I couldn't care less about it. Anyway, that takes alot of credibility from the review IMO, so I'm still hopeful of a 4+ star film.

If your dell power brick fails you can replace it with one of the new (and presumably cheap) standardized power bricks with a small converter.

If Apple considered it as straight forward as you do, the new policy would have been "no Google allowed, ner ne ner ner ner".

The study is wrong (I conducted my own study on a bus a few years ago), it's the phone voice that people put on that make it annoying.

You must be fun at parties.
I'm starting to hate being old enough to get formally popular references http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096928/
The whole I'm a PC I'm a Mac thing is BS. My understanding of the term PC is Personal Computer. That definition should be OS agnostic.
I don't get your point... He didn't say he uses BSD, he just said that he hated it. I hate tequila, can you figure out why I don't drink the stuff?
