Don't get me wrong -- I love Mandrake and the guys that work for MandrakeSoft. However, I must say that just like 7.0, the beta cycle on this was far too short. If you read MandrakeForum, you will notice that there seems to be many unresolved bugs.

I want just one movie that has basically NO plot, and just one thing:
    FIGHTING!
I don't care what it's about, I'd just love to see 2 hours of fight scenes. Would pay 4x over to keep seeing it too!

Some of the fight scenes I've enjoyed most were out of The Matrix, Rocky IV, and the Phantom Menace (amazing correography!). I was personally disappointed in Crouching Tiger. I have been told of some good Bruce Lee flicks, and will check them out.

Fight Club sounded like it had a good chance to be what I wanted -- but failed miserably. The fight scenes were mediocre, and the lame plot twists had nothing to do with fighting :)

    Any recommendations?

We all know that Rob and Warmenhoven are the kings of their domain! However, Rob, I'm changing your roadmap:

Before pre9 rolls around, you're going to feature my plugin idea (It doesn't have to be named after me or anything..)

Rob knows what I'm talking about, but for those of you that don't, it's basically a call screening mode for GAIM. You go on an awEy! message, but certain buddies, such as your best friend, can get through the awEy! message and talk to you.

This is good because then you don't hurt the feelings of anybody you might just want to ignore -- they won't know any better, they think that you're awEy! However, you are able to get work done, and talk to a couple people that you do want to be bothering you :)

GAIM has all the functionality to do this. I've even been told to write the plugin, and i looked at C, and just got scared, and dont' have enough time. But it can and MUST be done!!

  22. Re:Decouple from the hype train. on The Creation of "Fan" Sites · · Score: 1
Let me disagree with you by counterexample. Popular death-metal musical group, Fear Factory, has had www.fearfactory.com. Fear Factory chose Yani 'Big God' Pavlis to be the webmaster in 1995, since he hosted the most popular fan club page at the time - it was named Soul of a Net Machine (after FF's first album, Soul of a New Machine).

As if that isn't point enough for you, the story continues...

However, one popular fan with the nick of HunteR-KilleR, created www.fearfactoryfanclub.com. The site was VERY good, and became awfully popular.

Sad news struck when Yani Pavlis died this year of a heart attack. He was born with a weak heart, and after he had stopped breathing for 12 minutes, he was in a coma ever since. With having zero brain activity, his parents finally decided to let him go and turn off life support.

Well, Fear Factory had to move on, and as you can guess, they hired HunteR-KilleR as their newest webmaster.

But you're right. Having a fan club is a wasted of time and accomplishes nothing. Right?

Fear Factory is not a small time band either. They are dedicating their newest CD, Digimortal, to Yani.
