I like this a lot -- but if I'm going to stand up and argue against somebody about evolution, I'm going to need more details than a PhD saying "This is for sure, without a doubt, correct!"
They say that evolution is the *only* explanation for what we have. Explanation to what? Where can we find a better in-depth look at this?
I'm not trying to argue, i'm trying to better educate myself. And i hope that i can defend evolution if i get more details
So if they claim to support all of these distributions, why did they only make RPM's for redhat? I have Mandrake 7.2, and although the rpm would probably work, i'm just going to compile. If they're going to support packages for these systems, you'd expect them to MAKE packages of the updater for them too, no??? At least some.src.rpms, which i can't find either!
It's apparent that our boy, John, has some "skillz"... and in NO way should he take shit from anybody. He's better off finding another job, which he can do. He's the one in demand. Know where you are and use that for leverage.

Hard movie to review, but good point
on
Hannibal's Return
·
· Score: 1
This movie definitely has to be your style to enjoy it. I know that it had a decent script, but it just wasn't for me.
on the other hand, Katz does have a good point with the rating system. If I was a parent, and had to choose between covering my kids eyes on this movie, or on a movie like StripTease -- it'd definitely be this movie. I'd rather have them see breasts than a man disembowled and hung.:)
The latest version of Galeon has been ROCK-SOLID for me, and is making my mozilla experience much, much better. I've been running it for a good 2 weeks now, and have never been so happy with a browser in linux!
I suppose I have to agree with both viewpoints here.
First off, it is a touch irresponsible that something has been reported before its finish. At the same token, this is slashdot, and does not need to be professional. In fact, I don't WANT it to be professional, I like hemos for who he is. Also, this is the Superbowl -- not a big deal.
I know that many people made a big deal of Mozilla's Milestones being prematurely posted (twice), but the Super Bowl commercials aren't even close to the importance of that (and Mozilla M17 release wasn't of utmost importance either!)
So just relax kids, lets have fun and stop acting like professionals. I liked some of Bud Light's commercials, by the way. This has nothing to do with the 6 Bud Lights in my fridge either (that's a story in itself)....:)
I'm not even going to read this article, because Gnutella still sucks because of a shitty userbase. Nobody shares their stuff! That's why I like LimeWire-- you can set leech controls, so that people who aren't sharing cannot download off of you. It also blocks web users.
Hopefully ideas like this will get people to SHARE -- and then Gnutella won't suck. You can have the best network in the world, if there's no content, it blows.
I recently tried out Nautilus, and replaced GMC with it -- and it ROCKED! The problem was that the packages it came with would not work with evolution, which is by far more important. Until those get synchronized and I don't have errors composing mail, i'm not going back to nautilus -- but nautilus is defintely what's missing from linux/gnome.
Although this is funny, is it really necessary? Running mozilla from a terminal, I click on edit, preferences, and then appearance -> fonts. After clickin on fonts, the terminal has this:
Hey, this mozilla does look nice, and the wheel is smooth -- but it still loads too slow. They should make it just open a window so i can start typing my web page in, while it loads everything else:)
I haven't tried this release yet, but am about to. All I want from mozilla is to be able to click the icon, and boom - its open very quickly. I have this from netscape, IE does it, but mozilla never has. Galeon does, but hasn't been as stable for me, i'll check on that later too. When opening new windows, it has to pop up fast. Not TOO much i'm asking for:)
It's indisputable - Chinese leaders are simply assholes. But they do it well -- if someone tried this anywhere else, there'd be rebellion. The Chinese seem to be well controlled.
As i've said, I love evolution, but one thing that I can't stand is the fact that it wants me to have palmpilot utilities installed or else it givss me a dependency error. I don't want pilot stuff, I'd rather have evolution not load any of it and be quicker. Possibly even choose not to do a calendar too!
Although evolution works with --nodeps (for pilot), I'd rather just have it be more modular.
I've been using evolution since I needed a new pop mailer for school, and it's wonderful. Just got preview 8 up, and I'm happy as a pig in shit with it. The only problem I had was one dependency, libgal3, that wasn't satisfied automatically -- which brings me to the next topic:
helix-update isn't doing it for me. I'm a Mandrake 7.2 user, and they aren't updating our RPM's well enough, and I'm using some stuff that is just simply old, like I was with that libgal3 that needed to be updated. For Mandrake, xmms 1.2.3 is still in the helix tree -- although 1.2.4 has been out and stable for quite a while. If helix is going to start packaging certain things, they must stay on top of it, and for ALL distributions.
Sounds more like stubbornness to me.
...
Sounds more like ignorance to me.

Yup... I suppose that I, too, would be pissed off if I created a program, and then its FREE competitor ended up being consistently better.

What makes me sick is that there are creeps out there that get off on looking at this, and worse yet, people that MAKE this.
Go do something with your lives, people!
